Holidaying with Russians

Right , I don’t want to start world war 3 but I just need honest answers from experience , not opinions but experience.
I’m thinking of going to turkey in June but it’s full of russian holiday makers and I’ve heard they are bad knobs . Is it that bad ?

I went to Turkey in August a few years ago, plenty of Russians. Kept themselves to themselves but just came across as a bit rude. But then again, maybe I did too. Trying not to be too judgemental.

Well the ones with money have always seemed to me to be incredibly arrogant and cold. You would never get a good morning or even a nod of acknowledgment -  nothing.

My experince of Russians in ski resorts has been entirely negative. Rude and aggressive to staff and tourists alike. Dubai thr7 were ok but not the best tbH

I've not been to Turkey but when in the Maldives years ago we had a huge Russian "entourage" I assumed they were major criminals due to the fact it was one guy who was forned on by a large number of beautiful ladies and always had a number of bodyguards with him wherever he went lol. They were all OK and kept themselves to themselves. But that's the only experience I've had.

My uncle used to date a Ukrainian lady so spent a lot of time in the Ukraine, Bulgaria and went to Turkey etc... He said some were really nice others weren't - as above quite rude and arrogant. He had been an East London criminal/hard case though and became good friends with Russian and Ukrainian mafia and said they were brilliant lol. He ended up drinking a lot with them and never paid for anything.

I had a similar experience to others on here. We went to the Vogue Hotel in Bodrum last year, where it was a majority of Russians.

We didn't have any issue with them, they just come across somewhat uncivilised, but that is by our stardards, I am sure pushing in etc is normal for them.

The Russians in Turkey seemed to be better than the ones in Egypt.

Only been to Cyprus, where there's a lot of Russians. Only thing i noticed is that they just seemed to walk up the strip at night but i never saw any in the bars or restaurants. Kept to themselves really

As someone who has no connections to Russia, nor any experience of Russians on holiday , my date of birth has catagorised me into my generational demographic cohort of avocado toast eating and general snowflakery, I’m duty bound to state:

I am offended

Very rude people , wll let a door slam in your face, look at you like a d1ck when you open a door for them , ignore queues and go straight to the front banging there fists.

Left overs of socialism/marxism/stalinism

an environment where you didn't have to please anybody and manners counted for nothing.

That being said id rather bump into a Russian than a gobby yank.

Met a few on my travels, no problem with them tbh, the Danish are a bit rude but it’s not meant, it’s just their way, I can’t really understand why anyone (bar Turks or those connected) would holiday in Turkey anyway given the world today, but hey ho etc

Not to mention they also have a habit of poisoning people. Pesky Russians.

I went to Egypt about 8 or 9 years ago with the Mrs before we had kids and could no longer afford holidays. It was full of Russians, and they were incredibly rude. Not very nice people at all. However, don't let them stop you booking a nice holiday mate, it's easier to just laugh at them or ignore them (or poison them).

Went to a resort in Egypt with lots of Russians, found them very rude with no manners, for example while queuing for the shuttle to the beach they would push to the front of the queue, if you hold a door open there would be no thank you or nod/smile, they would try to push in at the bar/buffet.

However once i just started treating them how they were treating me it didn't bother me so much. plus the women can be nice to look at.

as doc says gobby yanks are probably worse

I've met a handful of Russians at social events and I have found the men to be very nice blokes, friendly and laid back... the girls a little aloof and up themselves.  Just my tiny bit of personal experience.

I used to walk into a room full of people & wonder if they liked me..... Now I look around & wonder if I like them

They just seem very cold at first, but after a few (Bottles of) vodkas can be the life and soul of the party.
