Home Gym Equipment - Anyone used this kit?

I'm considering buying: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/premium-strength-package.php which is:

CF475 Power Rack
CF475 Power Rack Lat/Low Pulley Attachment
CF430 Heavy Duty Flat/Incline/Decline Bench
145Kg Olympic Barbell Kit

Has anyone on here got either the rack or the bench, is so are they ok? In particular I'm hesitant about the 'leg restraint pads' on the bench do they get in the way? Better yet can they be removed/left off without compromising the bench?

Cheers, John

Not used it, but looks like a good package.  I'd prefer to try the bench in person myself, but it looks like the leg restrant can be removed with a couple of bolts from the photo.

I have the bench mate, its great! Very sturdy, although mine came missing 2 spacers which is annoying but easily remedied.

I didn't fit the leg restraints, I don't need them. Although if you're short you'll struggle to get your feet on the ground as it's quite a high bench.

I have that bench with a smith machine. The bench is crap mate. Its too high. Im 5'11" and when I lay down on it to do bench presses my feet are only just flat on the floor. It doesn't feel very stable when benching heavy. Not too bad a price though for the package. If I were you though Id look to add a better bench.

Seems to be the case that most of these benches are a bit high for benching.  I use to plant a couple of 20kg plates down for my feet.

It's unstable? Mine is solid. Did you check that you had all the correct washers/spacers? I noticed that some are factory fitted but the instructions have them listed as to do yourself.

Yep, Im 6ft3ish so I have no problems but I have noticed mates struggling with it.

Should have rephrased that. Bench is solid enough but as feet don't feel firmly planted, I dont feel too stable.

As mentioned before with powerhouse fitness don't order online but phone them up ask them for 10% (or more) if you say you will spend over £500 with them.

They gave me a 10% discount with no squabbles.

As I'm only 5'7" I'm really not going to get on with the bench then! I did enquire about swapping it for this bench: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/marcy-jd2-1-flat-bench.php (Marcy JD2.1 Flat Bench) but the price I was quoted was a lot higher! Anyone used one of these?

I got a 10% discount with fitness superstore doing the same, although I emailed them to ask for an offer.

You can get 15% off that package if you put SUMMER09 in the voucher code box, brings it down to £540.73 and tick the gift box for the free gloves and belt too!

There is a big banner on the  website that says summer sale that I completely missed!

Most of the retail benches are going to be a similar height.
