Horseriding

I'm going horseriding today, would you say this is a good form of exercise? I want to get back into it regularly. Does anybody on here go riding on a regular basis?

I look forward to walking like John Wayne tomorrow....

I used to have a horse. Wouldn't say riding out on a hack was much use for cardio training though it can be pretty tiring when cantering for long periods but this is more in the thighs then anything else.

I don't any more, but I used to ride often. I worked as a stablehand when I was younger

It's ok for exercise, depending on the horse, the conditions, how proficient you are, and exactly what you're doing. As an average, riding is light cardio I'd say. Similar energy expenditure to walking at normal pace. That's pure guesswork though I must admit lol
