Househusband

Could you be a househusband and let your wife be the income earner?

Bored extremely bored, it was horrible. I dont know how womem can be home all day, yeah there is housework to be done but it doesn't take 9 hours to do it all five days a week.

Women can meet other housewives for whatever, meet and gossip so they have more to do.

This could be a real possibility as my missus is very good at what she does and is very career orientated.

We are a good few years away from any tadpoles but I can see it being a chat we have.

You wouldn't feel in any way emasculated? My mate has been a househusband now for almost a year. Initially he loved it but he is slowly changing as a person. He is now becoming very depressed about the situation.

the only problem i would have with it ( well apart from having to ask for money) is if things went sour after a few years. it may feel like starting all over again

I don't think you'll find many guys who would enjoy it, but for many women however this will be their thing, hence the trend.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Most women claim being a stay at home mum is hard work.

I think these days theres more for them to do in terms of facebook/internet.

If I was one I'd be playing games all day, but yea, I'd feel like  my man hood would take a hit after a while.

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

I wouldn't have a problem with staying at home and letting the missus bring in the money TBH. We have a very tight relationship and both work for the same in the end.

I do abhor housework though. Would have to keep that to a minimum. Would love the free time, I have lots of hobbies so wouldn't really get bored.

At this age no. At 35-40 maybe once I'd already had a good career and got bored of it.

Although it would only be for a few years surely? We're not talking full on Wag.

I've thought about this a lot, I could do it but I would need a Saturday job. So I'd have a little spending money of my own without having to ask the wife for money all the time.

my dad did it for the last 15 years. He was injured from work by falling of a ladder (painter and decorator) and never went back to work. He does the odd job every couple of weeks. Mainly for beer money.

I did it 2 years ago for a year. I only went back to work when I started to wonder how my relationship would develop with my son. Fine for now and the immediate future but how would we clash when he started to develop some independence in his teens?

I pondered that question for a few weeks and then I went back to work.

I think you will make of it what you will. If you're house proud enough, you'll find loads to keep you busy. Most men are not as house proud as women....no disrespect and I know there are many who will be more house proud than any woman but I'm referring to the majority. Personally as a female I couldn't spend my whole day entertaining a child AND keep the household running and I have the utmost respect to anyone male or female who could do so.

I often suggest this to my misses since she earns about 3x the amount I do. Doesn't seem too keen on it strangely.
