Wow! I have seen some high volume routines but that beats them all![xx(]

That routine would work for an astonishingly small number of people.

    Who's this Arnold Shwortzenagor guy?

Seriously though that routine is just pure madness, steroids played a part. But his genetics and character played an enourmous role in creating his physique.

I have seen many different routines that were supposed to be his but if this was out of his book... But really, would he have done the same routine year after year?

No, if he ever genuinely did this at all then it was not for long. He would make regular changes i am sure.

If you have Arnie's book then how can you not copy the spelling of his name? LMAO :-)))

Have to agree that training based on what we know today seems mental but when you have juice for breakfast lunch & dinner then you're going to get huge :-)

As this was his job/all he needed to do.. being able to wake up, eat, do this spread over most of the day, eat and go to sleep makes it less unbelievable... yes?

Yes, it is not utterly unbelievable but it is still quite astounding.
I am sure that he could have made life alot easier on himself and still made comperable or better gains.

I sure wish i could have his genetics. Do you think you could buy some on ebay? lol
Also, i really agree that it makes it a little.. just a little easier to do if that is your job and you can eat great and rest whenever needed.
Thanks for all the replies guys! They were very fun to read!!

I doubt the chest and whatever mon/wed/fri and other stuff tues/thur/sat bit but I can believe the rep range and exercises.
I bet he did a sort of 4 day split or something or light, speed days so only heavy days were onec a week per muscle.

I was thinking that to. It would be impossible to go heavy each of those days.

You wonder whether all these famous lifters/bodybuilders actually used any of the routines or exercises they advocate... I read an article attributed to Brent Mikesell a while ago that recommended the hip abductor machine as a great way to improve your squat - Surely the flipping hip abductor has made the square root of bugger-all difference in helping this guy squat 1141lbs. Really.

I doubt anyone would ghost-write an article by Brent Mikesell, and why would he want to lie. I don't think it's any stranger than the westside boys and their bicep curls.

Everyone back then used - or said they used - hugely volumous routines. Arnold will have used far less 'roids than today's guys.
