I eat 1 yolk, 5 whites. If it wasn't for the cholestrol I would eat all the yolks

Other than cholestrol, what is the disadvantage to eating the whole thing? I'm only 25 so I have a few years to clear my arteries out before I have a heart attack.

Whole eggs here, seems like a waste binning half the egg.

I only eat a couple of eggs a day, and with a clean diet the addition of ~400mg cholesterol will still result in an overall lower intake than most ppl.

between 12 and 18 a day, sometimes more..all whole but on their own with little or no carbs between main meals.

I can only stomach this for a few weeks before I go back to 4 whole eggs a day.

Whole eggs scrambled in milk and butter and salad or steamed veg for fibre mainly, I'm a hard gainer so no worries about fats other-than their quality.

Two whole eggs a day for me.

Although there is some correlation between total blood chol and coronary heart disease, the proportions of the different types of chol/TG's and other things like Lp(a), homocysteine and CRP make a bigger difference.

To put it into perspective, from MRFIT a total chol of 6.6mmol/l results in a relative risk factor for CHD of 2.5 compared to a chol of 3.5mmol/l (I don't know the 95% confidence intervals). This isn't the same as Relative Mortality. RM goes up if total chol goes below ~4mmol/l as well as above ~6mmol/l.
