RE: How does drinking water help water retention ?
I asked this the other week as I too was baffled!!
Apparently when your on course you need more water and your body recognises this. If you think back to a time when man hunted for food and didnt always have clean water. Excess food is stored as fat as a precaution incase a shortage develops In the same respect water gets stored incase of a shortage.
So by drinking lots of water you are telling your body that it is in plentiful supply all the time and so there is no need to store it. Sounds crazy!!
In the same respect lots of huge meals will make you gain fat. but if you eat lots of small ones, like most of us lads do, then the body will not store as much fat as food is always in plentiful supply.
