Should an average person take in 1.5g protein per pound of bodyweight or just 1 gram? and can 2 much turn 2 fat?

All depends - but I'd go for 2g per lb

Too many calories will turn to fat, not protein in particular.

Whole diet is the key mate, not just protein intake ...

no, the average person should consume on a 2000-2500 calorie diet, 15% of their total calories from protein

this will increase with sportsmen and those weight training to a point where you feel gains are adequate or muscle retention is at an acceptable level

2g per lb isnt really possible for me. i weigh 225 lbs so that would be 450g protein a day. i think 1.5g per lb is enough for a lot of people
