How many...

in your opinion whats the best amount of times to hit a particular muscle group? As in, ias it better to train each just once a week, two times, three times etc.

    depends on the volume in each session

    start - 8 stone 7 lbs

    There are loads of different ways to train

    Personally I find that twice a week works quite well for me

    Once a week full on, as heavy as you can go for minimum of 6 reps, trying to get about 15 sets for large musclegroups and 9 sets for smaller musclegroups.

    Sometimes ive adopted in the past to do a 5 day a week session, fit all my body into 4 days a week and then the 5th day focuses only on areas i need to bring up...so it would be training my weaker bodyparts twice per week. Its ok when i was 13-15 stone and not starting to lift heavy weights but I couldnt do that now though because id be overtraining, the heavier weight seems to take much more effort, cant do another session on that muscle if ive trained maximum.

    Dirctly with max weights, once a week. I also do a second Lactic Tollerance exercise for each main muscle later in the week (usually), then of course every muscle gets hit indirectly later in the week with my split i.e. back and bis are done on different days

    My biggest growth has come from 5x5 routine, hitting each body part no more than once a week.

    Lighter weights, slightly higher reps for sets, much shorter rests.
