How many rest days

Hi all, I'm just about to change jobs. My new shift pattern will be 4 days on 4 days off. Is 4 rest days too long.

imo no unless you're going for serious competition training

I train EOD as do many competing these days. I do 4 days out of an 8 day split and reckon 4/4 is perfect mate.

can you not make it to the gym on your working days?

i think some one recently posted a thread in the trianing correctly forum about trianing 4 days on then 4 days off.

Not really mate, after 11 hours behind the wheel of a truck the only place I want to be is at home. I should add that I'll be cycling to work ( approx 16 miles rnd trip) thought it would be a good bit of cardio.

    i would rest then.
as a two 8 mile bike rides is a decent amountof cardio on top especially if you live in a hilly area.

why would 4 on 4 off be an ideal split, righty? surely 2 on, 1 off is better?
