How much cardio needed ?

Hi all,

I'm doing cardio 2x - 3x a week at the mo, doing 30mins on the stairs. I'm 97kg and 19% bf! I'm going to get down to 15% natty but then will be going on a cutting cycle for 12 weeks.

My question is how offen should I be doing cardio on the cycle & should I reduce the time I spend on the weights?

Cheers yo! :-)

More cardio means you can loose weight on more calories , less cardio you need to be tighter with how much you eat .

At 19%bf and on gear you should be getting leaner by simply not stuffing yourself with pizza and burgers.

Thanks, I'm going to aim for cardio 5x a week, a mix of hit and ccv.

Uriel - I'm not doing the cycle yet, I'm dropping to 15% natty 1st, I want to get a few months cutting diet only 1st. I wish it was the case of pizzas and burgers, I eat pretty clean, I just eat lots, and I'm a old bastard.

Daddy - 250 test-e, 250 deca ew, .25 amidirex ed.

Personally I'd save the cardio until my weight loss stalled and even then I'd probably go down a few other routes before finally having to incorporate it. And incase anyone bites with a "It must be done for CV purposes"; you'll be surprised what lifting heavy weights with some intensity can do to your CV system!

While I agree Welsh that lifting with intensity can help your CV system it still does not compare to a sustained 30min HR of greater than 150bpm. I see very few people lifting with the intensity to reach this cardiac output. Let's not add in the pre-workout stims. About the only people who lift with the intensity to reach a cardiac output of 150bpm or greater that I have seen are people who crossfit and that is usually for 15mins or less with those workouts.
