How much you gain in your first year?

How much pure lean muscle did you gain in your first year?

I here stories of people gaining 80lbs of pure muscle in a year, and others saying to aim for 5lbs of lean muscle a month in your first year.

Do i find it really hard to gain muscle? cos i thought for a beginner 20lbs of lean muscle in a year would be good.

Anyway how much you guys put on in your first year?

that is what they are likely to be unless they are genetic freaks and go from very very little mass to a substantial amount

IMO its very hard to give an exact figure on lean mass gain but i would be happy with 10-15 as drb says

in my first year training i lost about a stone but i got a lot leaner and bigger muscles. dont know how much muscle in weight but when i flexed my arms to start with they looked exactly the same as if i wasn't flexing them. after a year there was a big difference.
