How old is your car?

I've never owned a new one - the depreciation would depress me.
Nearest I've got to it is having a 2.5 year old one.

But am now pootling round in a sack of rubbish T reg Golf which is, what, 10 years old now?

Due to finances really.

So, how old is your motor, and why?

Last car was 9yrs old and changed it for a 7yr old WRX 2 weeks ago.
I'd buy a newer car if money wasn't an issue.

Current car is 5 years old.

I used to be fortunate enough to have a company car and used to get a brand new motor every couple of years.

I then moved to a company that had a crap car policy so took the cash option instead.

Car is 7 years old. Cost me £300 to put it through its mot at the weekend.

I would love a brand spanking new car, but sadly do not have the funds.

Quite happy to rally around in my current car for the time being (until i win the lotto).

1995 so neary 15 years old. BMW 318is. Had her since nearly new so I know whats been replaced (ie most of the car) and what is likely to need doing next.

She's probably not worth anything but because most things have been done someone would get a real bargain if I let her go.

You did gain far too much fat though,I mean, you're not muscular at all, you're just a fat mess.

Truth is I wish I ahdnt spent so much (borrowed so much to buy a car).

Bought it when things were really bad and a) Was prone to impetuous decisions and b) Wanted something good in my life

Now Im stuck with massive car paymenst for another two years.

55 plate so will be coming up to 4 years old.

not sure I could justify buying a new due to depreciation as soon as you drive it away.  better off getting like an 09 plate when 59s are coming out that the reg right at the end and knock of shed-loads on list price to get rid.

Mine is 10 years old.  The problem with buying a second car with low mileage is that nothing has been changed in it.  For instance, you're getting a car with only 37K on the clock, but that's 37K of wear and tear.  I've put so many new parts in my car the past 2 years that its running like clockwork and will fly through the MOT.  So, I'll get another 12 months from it at least.  If it gets through another MOT, then I'll keep it another 12 months.  Its only when it suffers a major failure that I'll scrap it.

Own a 51 plate Citroen Saxo VTR.

    Yes i know it's a boy racers car.I am having a mid-life crisis!!.

Pay the loan off in December.Paid £2800 for it in December 2006.Worth about a grand or so now.Needs a load of dough spent to get it through the MOT in October though.

Newest car i had was a Fiat Punto which was 14 months old.
