How to do Cardio AM ?

Hi guys.

Finding it hard to Do Cardio stright after weights, Either Time or Energy effort.( Im Trying to Lean Bulk )

So I have Decided to Try this Am Cardio thats UNFULED ?

1st off what does it mean ? Im Guessing by waking up and not eating and doing cardio the body is force to take fat as a energy sorce rather than from food or ATP/Gulcose?

2nd How should i Deit for it ?

I have listed Below The 1st few meals i would normaly eat and what i think i should eat:

Normaly

5.00 Wake - Shake - Whey Oats Milk
6.30 Banana
8.00 - Chicken Pasta Peas Fruit
etc etc train etc etc

UNFULED CARDIO:>

4.50 Wake - Anthing b4 hand?
5.00 - Cardio 20mins SSCV
5.30 - Normaly shake b4 or Fast arbosing i.e. whey / dex / malto in water

Just not sure how i should tweek the deit around it ?

    Personally i fuel my cardio. The body will use my food ive eaten for the exercise, then fats later.
    As opposed to the opposite of fat now, then your food later.

    It also lowers the risk of losing muscle if i was to get a bit too intense and switch to using carbs for fuel without realising it.

    Fasted cardio = Wake up starving, jump on bike, pedal, jump off.... [eat after or a while after....]. as its all slow pace you hope your body is using all fat to fuel it. If intensity got to high youd probably have some glycogen stores in muscles anyway so no big deal.

    I just find i perform better and avoid the small risk of muscle loss from fueling it.
    although now im starting HIIT, which MUST be fueled.

    While im here Whats Difference in HIT an SSCV i see a lot on here are mixed. i allways thought hi-intensatity which hit is , allthough only fir short bursts was bad for muscle groth?

    HIIT is when you do say 30 seconds FULL OUT SPRINT, 30 seconds jog.... 30 seconds full out sprint (Repeat numerous times untill you collapse, or feel your going to).
    Its pretty sick, i just did 4 minutes and my last "sprint" was pretty awfull to be honest. Asthma kicked in then and my throat is really uncomfortable

    No idea if its "bad" for muscle growth, it needs to be fueled though as the sprints you do are burning majority of carbs.

    When i do AM cardio i find i burn the most fat n rip quicker with the ability to still push heavy in the evenings, always take on board food beforehand to protect your muscles,
    I always take 20g of protein it's enough to protect your muscles after their starvation during sleep and a small enough amount so your body burns fat and not protein, i also take glutamine 5g this is essential for msucle protection i would say and also 5g of BCAA's..
    All that combined gives great rpotection to muscles and forces your body to use fats!

    Cheers Lads intresting looking foward to more comments and Gaz's and Niges take on it too.

    So Poss some thing like:

    4.50am - wake 20g Whey / Dex in water
    5.00am - 20mins SSCV or HIIT
    5.20am - Whey Dex / malto in water.

    then eat as normal! ?

    With regards to intensity, find a pace that you can do without breathing heavy or or your heart rate goes up sky high

    But youre bulking are you not?

    In which case on one of your off days just go for a run for 30 mins, get some proper running shoes otherwise your knees will take a bashing (go to a specialist running shop for it_

    Yes i am lean bulking but i cant no reason why i cant do unfuled cardio as i cant see it being a prob? Maybe try Fuled and unfuled and see how i get on. i guess is best.

    if it means setting your alarm then quality sleep is far better then unfuelled cardio

    do what suits you best mate

    You've stated as doing (or going to do) 20mins SSCV pre meal 1.

    From what I've gathered, because SSCV is a much lower intensity than HIIT it would have to be done for at least 40 mins to gain the benfits.

    20mins is recommended for HIIT (although has to be fuelled).

    No need for either Jim

    Just make sure you eat something solid around 1.5 hours before your cardio with carbs and protein and little fat for HIIT and have something solid after you finish your cardio

    Hi, I can really only Do cardio when i wake up now, ?I have about 20mins max Spare in the morning from waking to do my cardio so its either HIIT or SSCV, But based on the above 20mins SSCV wont give the same effect as 45mins SSCV.

    So its gota be 20mins HIIT, So i need to fule it stright from waking, So Will a Whey / Dex Shake be ok ???

    ( Pssst TIO plans changed the asda chick invited me over to her place off in 10mins! )

    dont do HIIT right away from waking, just do 1-2 HIIT sessions on your off days for now mate

    Any reason why i cant do HIIT after waking ? I cant really do cardio on my days off as im busy you see hence when i wake would be ideal.

    i doubt your system will be ready for it, you may be sick and its not something i personally recommend. You can try if you want

    if you do HIIT first thing theres a high chance (almost certain) that your body will go into a catabolic state.

    HIIT needs to be properly fuelled before hand so you use carbs for energy.
