Huge Congratulations to Garry Frank and more

This was truly a weekend i wont forget. I was lucky enough to have been at the Arnold Classic this weekend. I was able to witness history in the making when Gary Frank totaled 2706!! I got to see the bench + deadlift tonight. I do have to say it was disapointing because he had more in him, he got 854 on his first deadlift attempt and then he went for 903 or 905 (right around there) and the bar was going up with some speed and it looked like his grip failed and it fell. He didnt even try a 3rd attempt or else his total would have been around 2755.

Paul Childress also set a new total record for the 308 weight division. Another sad ending with him also though, he was going for another 40-50lbs on top of his new record total on his 3rd deadlift attempt and the bar was going up VERY slow but he was only about 2 inches away from lockout and his grip gave out! He was MAD!!! Still a hell of a day for both of these guys.

I feel very lucky to have witnessed this and also seeing so many other people like Kazmaier, Brookfield, Pudzianovski (and all the other strongman competitors), Ronnie C (with almost every other BB)+ more

Also seeing Gene Rychlak throw up 876 wasnt too shabby either.

Ill tell more later, its LATE

    From www.super-series.com:
    quote:
Savickas won the Grand Prix Final...

Savickas put on an unbelievable performance when he captured the Arnold´s Strongest Man contest. After winning two of the first four disciplines he was slightly in the lead, just with one half of a point, before Karlsen when they entered the packed Memorial Arena for the Saturday night´s final discipline. The other top Super Series athletes, Bergmanis and Pudzianowski followed with a tie on the third place.

Savickas was one of only two athletes to carry the special built wooden piece up the ramp in the Farmer´s Walk, and with the fastest time he was the winner. He received, for the second year in the row, the first place Hummer H2 vehicle, as well as USD 16, 000 in cash and a specially made bronze statue. Karlsen came in second place, Pudzianowski third and Bergmanis fourth.

...but Pudzianowski is the World Champion 2003/2004

Based on the results in the Grand Prix Final, Pudzianowski is the IFSA World Champion for 2003/2004, followed by Savickas in the second place, Bergmanis third, Karlsen fourth and Johansson fifth. The top three athletes received a nice crystal piece from Kosta Boda as well as additional cash prize money.

More information and complete results to follow shortly…

Pudzianowski finished 5th. He got injured doing the timber carry when he trapped his foot under the apparatus.

    Savickas now has two Hummers.
