I Lost 30lbs in 3 weeks! Find out how!

Well... I guess I have to count myself as one of the lucky ones... I seem to be over my bout with Glandular fever. I still have zero energy and need to take a nap in the afternoon to function in the evenings... but I'm not contageious anymore and the swelling has pretty much dissapeared...

The down side to all of this is that I've dropped almost 30lbs I had a few days where I couldn't eat or swallow... and even when I could eat, I didn't feel like it. The infection did a wonderful job of burning up my body... I feel like someone has stolen a years worth of training.

None of my clothes fit anymore, I had to make a new notch on my belts with a pen knife... I've lost an inch from each measurement and feel utterly out of it - I feel flat, weak and small.

The other thing that is destroying me right now is not being allowed back in a gym for another few weeks... apparently my spleen is swollen and to train now might rupture it. It's not just losing what I've worked hard for it's that being in the gym is a major way of dealing with things for me and without it I feel a bit lost and things feel like they're getting on top of me.

I've had a bit of a crisis of faith reguarding the whole thing. Is it really worth training when something like this can come along and take it all away?

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Welcome to where i am mate, not nice is it?, although i will be back soooner than you, i know what ya mean, ya work your ass off year round just for a poxy few weeks of ilness to wipe it off ya!.and in the summer of all time's!!!!!!!!............simple thing is, you not going back to square one, your just thinking that way...of course youll lose size and over all mass.but i bet once you start eating right and traing again, you'll be surprised in how quick the body can pull it back.

Plus it sounds just like bad luck you got Gladular Fever, its not like you regularly get ill like this....think of it as a one off thing.

alot will come back pretty quick. Most will be water and glycogen. A couple of good days eating will get the scales moving in the right direction.

Just get yourself fully recovered and back in the gym and you will be fine.

As said, just focus on recovery now.

Do you believe in muscle memory? You will be back 60% after 2 weeks and about 85-90% after 5weeks.
Don't worry about it too much.

And btw, the first session back at the gym will be scary and dissapointing but hang in there and you'll have no probs (may even benefit because you'll have to be strict).

Well... Against the docs advice I went to the gym today... I only did it because I'm going stir crazy in the house and needed to out for a bit.

Nothing ruptured... but I have no endurance

Was only in there for about 40mins and did a light full body workout... 1 set 15 reps - Chest press, Leg press, Assisted Chins, Leg extensions & Bicep curls...

I wanted to cry at how ****ing knackered I was... totally blown using low weights... was meant to be a light session...

HA.im just back myself, exact same reason, going crazy looking at the walls!

Did chest and stomache.....and yea felt weak....felt sh!t and alittle light headed....was out of breath for quite abit...nowhere near as heavy or as intense. I knew it was gonna be bad, but for some reason i was so eager to get into the gym to find out HOW bad i was!.

Yeah, it's not a good feeling knowing that you're so far behind what you were...
