I have my diet sorted...quick question on cardio

I would post this in the cardio section but it might take days before its answered.

I workout out on monday, wed and friday.

Is it ok to do my cardio at night (about 90 mins after my dinner) on the other days?

I know cardio is best done in the morning. but as im on a cut i just dont have the energy to get up at 5.45am and do cardio before work.

Cheers.

What about after your weights workout then if it's steady state cardio?

What do you eat at dinner? Is that the last meal before bed then?

    Can you do HIIT?

Really sorry to 'Hi-Jack' your post but I think my question could also be relevent to your question too. and since my original post got moved to the cardio section, it wont get answered for days so i'll try to sneak it in here and the answers may help us both!

"Is it a good idea to do cardio after weight training? Im currently cutting and doing 3 x 1 hour cardio sessions per week on the stationary bike, and 3 sessions on the weights. what if i done an additional 30 mins cardio after my weight training sessions, that way im doing cardio 6 days a week, is there any problems with doing cardio after weights or is it all good?"

Ive read on here that its not ideal to do cardio after a weights workout as it might interfere with muscle growth????

I have my dinner, then PWO shake then a PPWO meal which is usally mackerel and rice.

Ok, but what do you eat at dinner?

And you mean you have dinner.. then train.. then have PWO followed by PPWO?

It's hard to advise without seeing the overall structure of the diet and training tbh.

But IMO.. You can do HIIT. And you can do cardio after weights.

If you like being energized to do cardio.. then perhaps you'll be better off with HIIT.

After weights, you're in a catabolic state (like upon waking). You're glycogen stores are also depleted (like upon waking).. so it provides a 'good' environment to do cardio (a fasted, glycogen-depleted state), similar to the state upon waking. Yes it's crucial to provide your body with the nutrients it needs PWO, but you're still doing physical activity. So just have the PWO after both the weights and cardio. If you like you can still have something in between if you want to fuel the cardio. Or have the whey in between like you might do upon waking.. Just remember that the whey would still create a spike in insulin.
I personally wouldn't do an incredibly long session for a cardio session after weights.. and I wouldn't do it upon waking either..

Which one is your dinner then?

Either way, the dinner you had would still fuel your efforts to some degree. (Which you may not want and think it a waste of time.. or you may be all for, because it's a 'safe' option).
