ICE or HEAT

I have an injured tendon in my left arm and was wandering if someone could tell me if i should treat it with ice or heat.
It got injured 3+weeks ago and is no better yet,i am off work with no sick pay,so any help is appreciated
And if someone can tell me what the different affect heat and ice have on injured soft tissue plz...

    After 3 weeks I guess you should be using heat, I think ice is more for the initial treatment of the injury.

    I couldn't tell you the exact affects ice and heat have, but i'm pretty sure heat will increase blood flow to the area or something along those lines, which will help with the recovery.

    1st 72 hours you need R.I.C.E.

    rest
    ice
    compresion
    elevation

    after that heat.
