IT Help needed

Morning/Afternoon all.

Quick question, I was due to receive my new laptop today from our IT dept and so to be helpful I 'cut & pasted' 1.8GB from my hard drive to a USB stick.
I went to open the first file and I got a 'corrupt file' notification, then when exiting the folder I found that every other folder had been changed to gobble-d-gook.
I left it and asked IT to come up sooner. when the girl arrived she clicked on the USB and found that it was now showing as empty.
Is there a way to restore these files onto my C drive or are they lost forever?

I'd use Easeus data recovery program to recover what it can from the stick

+1 for easus data recovery, should have dragged and dropped the files instead of copy and paste.
Sure it's the same thing but it probably would have done it properly, seems like it's just not copied the stuff accross maybe just the folders not the files

Its showing empty because it has lost the info that tells windows where to look on the stick. It's like removing all the house numbers on a street... - the houses are still there lol.

The files will still be there unless new data is put on that overwrites the old stuff

    Easeus will still work

Yes it should be fine with Easeus mate.

Its not actually deleted it deletes the pointers to the file so the space is now available. It doesn't delete the actual file.

Stealing all the numbers off the houses in a street! Is that a childhood game?
