Ideal bulked weight...

Generally when people are bulking they aim to a certain weight, and i was just curious as to what weight you guys would suggest an individual to bulk to if they're 6 ft. This is, hopefully, going to be a fairly lean bulk.

Just putting fat on with the hope that when you strip it off there is more muscle underneath than you had doesn't work, in fact it can hold you back as you are likely to lose a lot of the muscle you have built in the meantime whilst you are trying to get rid of the fat.

If you're 6 foot and you want to be lean then ultimately you should be looking at being around 100kg, that's around 15 stone 10.

But it's pointless just trying to get your weight to 15 stone 10 by eating loads, you'll be putting 5 stone of fat on and you'll be one fat MF.

With a clean bulk and keeping your bodyfat to a minimum it should take you around 8 to 10 years to get to that size.

If I haven't understood your question, my apologies, but it's a bit vague.

I don't aim to reach a certain weight. I go by what the mirror says rather than the scales. If I feel as though am I getting too fat then I will adjust my diet accordingly or perhaps go on a cutting diet for a little while until my bodyfat is back down to an acceptable level and then increase my calories and begin "bulking" again.

I don't really like using the word "bulk" because that implies eating too much food and gaining unecessary amounts of fat. I personally just go a couple hundred above maintainance calories from good foods and try to increase my lifts every time I go to the gym - and the lean mass gains just come from that.

"Protein Powder .. that's like steroids, right?"

"Yes, chocolate flavoured steroids. I also have some strawberry flavoured crystal meth if you're interested?"

ok thanks guys, it will be a lean bulk like i said so hopefully not a ridiculous amount of fat gain. 8 - 10 years... damn.. lol. I think i'll try get to around 13 stone then, that's big enough then cut again.

Ive never really bulked before you see, unless you count when i was like 16 and just casually lifted weights with my mates whilest getting pissed, strange i know.... but yeh now i'm serious and have accumalated more knowledge upon the matter.

I'm around 11%, perhaps 10%, hoping to get down to about 8% by 4 weeks time, not to bothered if i don't make it, its just a read somewhere that if you start your bulk on a lower body fat you get better gains, is this just BS? lol

So your around 150lbs at 6 feet tall and are cutting further? Getting to 8% bodyfat isn't necessary for your goals in my opinion. It is said that the lower % of bodyfat you have, the more carbs you are able to eat without seeing fat gain ... but I think you should just concentrate on gaining mass for now.
