If you had the chance to move to another country would you go

Having spoke to my sister earlier who lives in the america (nc) she was telling me that in about 3 years time she will get citizenship which means I will be able to move over there obviously I will need to find out more about it but having thought about it I quite like the idea of just leaving England as I think its rubbish for certain reasons I also feel the change would be good for me and my partner and child
In fact i love the idea only my partner says she will miss her family, which is understandable
So my question is if you had the chance to move to another country would you go?

Please give answers as to why you would or wouldn’t go

    no

there is never a complete sense of reality for me
i find i enjoy the quirks of the uk
the humour of the people in the uk
    the security i have here

i would have a second home abroad but never base myself somewhere long term unless i knew the place before hand

Depends what you mean by chance.

If I had a job offer and could speak the lingo I would go most places or if I had a partner who was moving I would probably be up for it.

excuse my ignorance but how does your sister having citizenship qualify you to live there?

No, I can't stand hot weather, and the UK is a lot better than most people give it credit for, IMO. We don't get many natural disasters etc either.

If you have the oppertunity, then do it. Even if its just for a couple of years you'll do some amazing things you couldn't or wouldnt ever do at home. There's a lot out there.

Ive lived in Germany and Kong. Hated Germany as it was a very small village. HK i adored. However, its not the family i missed, its the small things. Im a big footie fan, I lived for Saturdays to find out the scores or the game on tv. Not being able to get a cup of tea, I only drink one in the morning but it turned into a huge mission of finding proper teabags not jasmine tea!. My dad lives in New York has done for years. ONce your over 18 your on your own regardless of relatives. My dad is married to an American and has a green card so I would probably have an easier chance than most. However, I dont think its the same with foreigners not married to a native regardless of how many years you have been there. I would look into it Dave, as my dad had problems as one point.

I'd guess that almost everyone here has the chance to move to another country if they wished to TBH. I know many of us are EU citizens, so we can move freely to any other EU country

My answer was no. I live in this country, if I wanted to move then I would do. Maybe in the future my answer will change, in which case I'll be out of here

Moving to another country means different things for different people. Ive travelled and spent a good deal of time in certain places and have been offered many jobs abroad due to my industry. I find that those who think life is better abroad think that maybe life will be better, generally it isnt . Ok some some move and everything is ok but I think thats a small minority. I go to New York a lot as my dad lives there and has done for 15 years. Do I love it, YES would I live there NO!!! my comfortable wage is a p$ss in the ocean in NY!! If I new I could work there and live to my current standards I would be there now, but I cant. Also you need to find employers who will pay your card etc. and thats not up to you. Its really tough. Ive grown up a lot since my dad went to NY and its only now I feel that yes maybe I would go over there and face all the hassle after years of travelling abroad. Each to there own I guess

    Yes \
Currently i am in America where i was born. But i have lived in South Korea for a while and Nigeria. If thing go right i think i would like to move to the UK for a while. Nice change of pace.

The big upside here in the states for me is the range of foods i can get. We have tons of special foods and massive stores offering huge discounts.
The big upside to being in the UK for me would meeting some people here on MT, Getting to see Bigman enough said, and the fact that gear is legal for personal use.

Drug laws are stupid in america. If a kid smokes a joint he could get locked up for 20 years. Great idea lets lock up the future leaders and wonder why we have some many crazy idiots out on Parole.

If you have money and want to come to America try California. It rocks.

i wouldn't like leaving all my friends i've made here. i have a couple who are TRUE friends who i can 100% trust. friends like these are hard to find.

tho moving from this groggy place where it always seems to rain, would be nice. i guess i would need to plan ahead.(job ,housing you the kno)
