Injury - should I keep cutting

I've had sciatica due to a bulging disc since September, but like an idiot have tried to just keep training through/around it which hasn't worked (had physio etc as well).  I've been on a cut since January but have now got to the point where I have to take some time out to heal - will have at least 2 weeks off weights and then another 3-4 on light weights being very careful (longer if need be).  Would I be better stopping the cut and just worry about healing or would it make no difference?

Eat sensibly and structured.  Can you still do cardio?

thanks James, yes I can.  Spent last week just doing cardio, discovered the cross trainer I have at home aggravates my back though so will be doing it in the gym instead.  Have just added a few calories to my cutting diet (few more veggies and fruit plus a little bit of pasta and rice).
