Insulin Storage

The insert states that all insulin should be kept refrigerated before opening and can then be kept for 28 days after opening without being refrigerated.
However many people choose to ingnore this and simply keep it in their bag and say that it has no adverse effect on the insulin.
Id be interested to know how others store their slin as ive just got hold of my Humalog and found that it expires in Jan 07, so it is therefore reasonably old and i very much doubt it has been refrigerated for all this time.

    I keep mine refridgerated

If I need to take slin with me (eg to the gym) then I will prefill a slin pin and take that with me

Slin that is left in the heat for long periods of time will start to lose potency. It should still be safe to use though

same as drab, i though you had to keep it in the fridge all the time but bin it 28 days after opening, didnt realise it didnt need to be refridgerated for those 4 weeks

Thanks fellas, im just concerned as to whether or not it had been refridgerated prior to opening, by my supplier as its not that far away from its use by date.
I understand it can lose potency if not stored correctly so i was considering leaving my initial PWO shake until i experience any hypo signs in order to see if the slin is still as it should be.
Do you think this is wise?
BTW this is my first time using slin and im not sure what i should be 'feeling' using this med and im one of those @rseholes who constantly thinks their gear isnt working as it should do. I have been using 10iu of Humalog ech day this week from Tuesday.

No bro dont risk that. Whilst it may be unlikely, you may find by the time hypo sets it, its too late to ingest the carbs.

    Dont take the risk

Fair enough. It would have been helpful if someone could have suggested a better way to determine its potency or answered my question as to what i should have been experiencing gain wise rather than just saying it was a bad idea.
I was just trying to determine whether or not the slin was still active as i was dubious as to it being correcctly stored and i was unsure of what i should be 'feeling'.
However, a week after starting it i have gained 8lbs and am feeling much harder and constantly pumped so obviously its doing what it should.
I am very impressed with this med and will no longer be going ahead with my plan of staying on AAS all year round as i am confident, having used this med, that it will serve me well inbetween cycles.
