Insulin use during contest prep.

Hi, im a new member to this forum.(Just posted on the wrong forum so if your reading this for a secind time sorry.) I would really like to know has any one used Insulin leading up to competition. More spesific during the final few days when trying to carb up. My belief is that as the body is extreemly low on body fat and no more fat is being injested at this stage the insulin can not lead to any fat storage but should help push extra carbs in to the muscle. Ok in theroy but has any one tried it and with what results.

The reason i ask is that i find carbing up the harded part of any diet phase. ive oftern got it wrong and come in to flat.

Any advise will be much appriciated

i have used it during pre contest, but i have a freakish metabolism, i diet on over 4500 cals a day with zero cardio and am never more than 15-20 pounds above contest condition. Low carb days are at least 300g a day.

If your like a normal person LOL, it may be tricky with the low carbs the risk of going hypo as well as possible slowdown of bodyfat loss for me it just helped me retain size and fullness while losing fat

Thanks for the reply mate. Not to many people replying to this post. Like you i also have a freakish metabolisim. will satrt my diet on approx 5000 cal/day. and only reduce it to around 3500. Dont need to any cardio. i compete around the 16 st mark but the last few weeks i tend to stay off the scales and just use the mirror. best result to date was 5th in The NABBA Universe, Class 1 in 2005.But still felt i was a bit flat then. I would be interested to know how much you were taking and for how long before the show. I was thinking about using it only to help carb up the week before the show, this way there should be no problem with hypos.

i used it for the entire 12 weeks, 10 iu before breakfast, and 15iu PWO. Trained about 3pm so shot of insulin PWO was about 4.00-4.30. Cut it out two weeks out at the same time as my GH, so didnt use it to carb up with.
