i honestly wouldnt worry about it for the legnth of sessions your talking about.  i think its largely a myth that its going to have some real negative impact on your physique or training.

that said, i do like to use carbs with BCAA's during training, as i think its a great time to take in some nutrients for growth and recovery.

I've noticed much reduced DOMs whilst supplementing with intra-workout BCAA's. I just don't seem to get *that* sore anymore...despite some pretty hard workouts.

Had a massive leg session the other day...and I'm walking up stairs fine haha, just a little stiff :)

That could be easily mis-interpreted Thai!

    Ive tried:

BCAA (15-20g) right before the session
    BCAA (15-20g) during the session
Protein shake (30g) before the session

Protein shake works out cheaper - but i've found BCAA slightly more effective for recovery - either will do though

I wouldn't worry too much about it (cortisol during training) to be honest, that said a good BCAA product can help reduce muscle soreness I've found. On the subject of intra training products I've noticed a great difference when taking a carb drink during training - if you're not on a cut I'd really recommend trying this.

Is intra the best time to take BCAAs? or immediately before training?

ive had the best sucess with intra.  i have protein and carbs half an hour before.  then during training i use a drink that has 10g BCAA's and 30g carbs per scoop.

as with all these things, its hard to put results down to one product, but ive trained for alot of years, and having bcaa's with carbs during training is producing good gains, its also reducing doms and allowing training sessions to be intense right untill the end.

Same as Daz -  I put my extra size on in the off season using one with 10g BCAA and 37g per scoop - fast/medium/slow digesting carbs to keep me powering on.  I'm finding lately having gone from carb free intraWO to one one with, I get much more energy as I work out.

Both give the same DOM free effects afterwards.

Papa / Daz, what intra drink do you use?
Ive only ever tried a pre-workout drink before, so wondering if an intra drink would be worth a try?

I'm a Gaspari rep so I use Gaspari products mate - Size On Max Performance.

A solid intraworkout drink may indeed help you as you train.  Certainly helps me.

have access to a few with the brands i rep mate, but i choose to use AMS body mortar, tastes great and is convenient and cost effective plus it has the 4:1:1 ratio of bcaa's that has been shown to be most effective.

you could buy bulk powders and mix say malto with bcaa's but you wouldnt find it works out much cheaper, and is alot more hassle!

intra workout nutrients are very important IMO for both anti catablism/maximising the workout and growth
