Invoice Question for those with business's ?

So I have to send out the new invoices for my company this year and I have been looking at templates online but there are so many it seems to be difficult to know what to structure it like.

Anyone got any tips or is their a uniform template invoice that is generally accepted?

I won't do many per year maybe a dozen at most but would like something simple and easy to keep for the accountant.

Cheers

You should have a date, invoicee address, your address, invoice number, gross, net, and VAT figures. That's all you need.

When you do your books and records, write down the invoice number as well as the gross, net, and VAT of your sale so your accountant can find that invoice easily.

You should also reconcile your invoices and cash/bank received. If, in your bank, you get a £4000 receipt, for example, then you should write on your bank ledger that this is made up of invoice 1, 10, and 5, for instance.

Make sure the money you receive in your bank matches the amount you have invoiced during the accounting period. If not, find and explain the differences.

That'll ensure a tidy accounting bill.

Your invoice also needs your vat number on it (if registered) and if you are trading through a limited company it should include your company reg number and registered office.

No need to do anything fancy though. Just knock a template up on word or excel will do the job.

Anything ink on paper. Let me know what you're after and some quantities and I can pop some quotes over to you.

If you offer credit you can also put on your credit terms along with payment options/details as well.
