Is cardio after a big meal any good (im feeling guilty)

Hey All,
When cutting its mentioned many times that cardio is most efficient for fat loss on an empty stomach ideally first thing in the morning.

However, what if for example one evening I eat a big 2500 calorie meal, feel guilty and so straight away after the meal I go on a bike ride and burn, say, 500 calories. Does this mean only 2000 calories from the meal will effect me?

Or is there some reason that the cardio would be useless and the whole 2500 would go to fat (maybe its just burning blood sugar or something...?)

What im thinking is that I could have a cheat meal (which i enjoy!) then go for a 2 hour bike ride (which i also enjoy!) to burn it off. This is in addition to my normal morning excercise of course.

Cheers!
Jez.

I would atleast let it digest some, but if you have food in your system, your body will use that for fuel first.

    Taste doesn't build muscle.

If you have a cheat meal, leave it as that, a cheat meal.

Consuming large amounts of food and then trying to do exercise to burn off the calories is sometimes where people start to be getting into eating disorders, often referred to as exercise bulimia.

the body doesnt work in a fashion where adding what you have eaten = to X amount of time on a treadmill to burn that specific load off

eat the food, address your relationship with food

    as above
