Is this HIIT????

Just wondered whether this was HIIT...it damn feels hard ...

Treadmill.
1min walking at 6kph
30 sec at 8kph
30 sec at 18kph

then keep going for a total of 15mins....
It feels like my heart really accelerates for the sprints then it drops right back down during the 30sec at 9kph...

On reading about HIIT it seems like i am not reasting enough...should i rest more...then sprint harder????

also after the treadmill i go onto the rower and do:
1 min sprint followed by 30 sec rest for a total of ten intervals...
Again is this HIIT
What could i add to this programme to make it up to around 30 mins as i think that is how much you need...any advice would be most appreciated...thanks...

    dg, what you have discribed is exactly what you siad, intervals, sprints call them what you will.they are good, bt there not HIIT.

    ok....so to do HIIT i need to increase the rest and then go harder on the sprints.
