Lookin at some of the bulking routines on this site, I was thinking about dropping some of the sets. I was thinking of doin away with the incline presses and lateral raises, as I'm training chest on the monday and wanted to make sure i was recovered ok.

Although I'm not a total newbie, I've put on about 1 1/2 stone over the past 3 years I've been using weights, not alot I know, but I'm happy with it. I've sorted my diet out now so hopefully I should be gain alot quicker.

try the routine i posted and see how it goes, keep the reps and sets the same bro. I'm starting it soon but from the info I have found out this site it seems a good one, in about 3 months or so i'm going to try frankies push & pull routine. You might wanna have a look at that. Try and only lift three days a week and do cardio once or twice

Check out my beginners guide. It has a couple of routines for someone wanting a general 4 day split to get on the way or a 5x5 routine for someone at a level when they are comfortable lifting heavy and have their form sorted (i.e at intermediate level I suppose). The problem I see with your cutrrent routine is that you have no squats and deadlifts (the two best mass builders IMO) in there on leg & back day. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for that.

Altough i'd like to start squatting/ dead lifting, I haven't really got the equipment to do so. The gym I'm in is pretty basic and only has dumbbells, pretty crap I know, buts its free, waaheey.

Could I substitute those for anything else?

    How about squating with dumbells??
