Is this video a safe demonstration to do walking lunges

Hey guys.

I have been doing walking lunges for a few months now and my technique is the exact same as the woman's shown in this video. I've been told by some people that I should not push my legs out as far as her and should not have my knee at a 90 degree angle when I walk forward as that can cause damage. Is this true? I honestly thought the demonstration of walking lunges shown in this video were safe for me to do?

    Her lunges are fine.

She's wrong about the last bit though. You can lunge with your knee coming forward. In fact lunging in this way will put less strain on the knees. The first lunge she did puts more pressure through the back leg.

The video is how I do it and haven't hurt myself yet. I also carry 2-50lbs dumbbells while doing this. The next two days I am wrecked. It is a feat getting off and on the toilet.
