I've just eaten some bad fish!

Will I get food poisoning?

Ok, I've grilled some fish kebabs this evening - just lightly because I don't like my food overdone. The salmon and tuna steak bits were fine, but when I munched into the white fish (cod or haddock I think) it tasted just wrong. Unfortunately it was half way down my throat when I really realised something was amiss, it had a sort of wiffy aftertaste I could smell.

So will I get food poisoning? Or is the off-taste harmless.

    Possibly.

Off fish can be touch and go.

Throw it back up if you can.

Eating charcoal tablets may help, if you can get hold of any. If not then some pretty burnt bread (anecdotally) can help

If not keep your fingers crossed. If you're still ok by the end of the day then you got away with it.

    Good luck

From someone who has had an eating disorder and just getting over a drink problem I'm really not in the mood to be either ill or make myself sick!

    Hopefully it'll pass.

Correct but I imagine that has to be fresh fish. I've had these lurking in the fridge for a few days, 5 to be exact. OOps.

fish can be eaten uncooked.  I have eaten uncooked salmon and tuna in restuarants.

As long as its not bad, ie started to rot you'll be fine.

I have (although not sober at the time) eaten raw southern fried style chicken before.  I ate about 3 bits before I discovered why it was abit rubbery.  I was fine.
