January 2015 SUC Rules

Shape-Up Competition 2015

Monday 12th January 2015 -> Monday 6th April 2015

The next official shape-up will run for 12 weeks starting on Monday 12th January 2015.

-----
Please Read Carefully:
 -----

The competition will be open to all MuscleTalk members and will be divided into female and male categories.  The winners of the male and female groups who show the most progress in 12 weeks as decided by the members, will receive a prize (details will follow). There are also prizes for second and third place finishers and all finalists will receive a free MuscleTalk t-shirt.

The Rules ::
1. The start date is Monday 12th January with the competition running for 12 weeks
to take us up to Monday 6th April.

Competitors may, if they wish, decide to finish the competition early and still have their entry considered at the end. To do so they must make it clear that this is what they wish to do and post up their 'After' photos that they wish to be used for comparison (date/time stamped) at the time of their dropping out. This is to take account of holidays, business trips and life's other little emergencies!

Aside from this, no leeway can be given for late entries ('Before' threads and / or photos posted after the cut off time at the start of the competition) or late finishers ('After' photos posted after the cut off at the end of the competition) - see below for relevant cut off dates and times.

2. To enter the competition, you must do the following:
- Start your own journal thread within the Shape-Up sub forum
- Post your 'Before' photos up between Sunday 11th January from 12:00 till Monday 12th January up to 21:00
- Stating your goals for the forthcoming 12 weeks (cutting/bulking) and (optional) whether they intend to use anything that may be considered assistance (e.g. AAS, prohormones, ECA, clen etc)
This thread can be used as a progress journal for others to follow and comment.

3. A Special Note On Photos (Please Read)

As the end will result will be judged on a comparison between 'Before' and 'After' photos, you should make sure that your photos are clear and of good quality. In past competitions many a competitor has lost out on votes due to poor photos, with one of the biggest mistakes being to use different poses or camera angles in the 'Before' and 'After' photos, preventing a good comparison from being made.

To help avoid this - Please take at least one photo from the front (relaxed, arms by side, double biceps, most muscular - it's up to you, but try to choose a pose/poses that will help you look your best come the end of the competition), at least one photo from the back (relaxed, arms by sides, rear double biceps, lat spread - again it's up to you) and at least one photo from the side (remember, side shots can give the best comparison in terms of any BF lost from the waist and hips, bear this in mind when choosing your pose - don't hide your results from the judges!).

In general, the more photos you take and post up at the start of the competition, including the more 'poses', etc, the better. As come the end of the competition, you will then have more choice in terms of poses you can replicate in your 'After' photos in order to show your results off to their very best! Replicating the same pose in your 'Before and 'After' photos is an absolute must if you want to do well in the voting.

It should go without saying - but NO NAKED PHOTOS, or photos with body parts blacked out.

As at the end of the competition, one of the MT mods (me!!!) will have to compile everybody's photos into a single thread, please ensure that you post your photographs on a site from where they can easily be retrieved (e.g. ImageShack). Also ensure that the photographs are of a reasonable size (e.g. two photos will need to fit side by side on screen for the final comparison, thus photos with a resolution bigger than the entire screen are going to cause a problem!).
Finally, as good as photos may be, they may not tell the whole story. So in addition to the 'Before' photos you post up, to make the "Before and After" comparison a little easier at the end of the competition, we highly recommend including some basic stats (weight, BF%, measurements - chest, waist, hips, upper arm, thigh, etc) along with your entry.

4. Although all MT members are generally very trusting. We would like you to provide evidence of your 'Before' and 'After' photo's. This year, to make it simple. Simply click the link and download the Verification Code and do one of the following:
- Print out and hold out in the camera's view
- Hold out your phone/tablet with the code displayed to the camera
- Put on your TV / Computer screen visible to the camera
Please NoteThe Verification Code must be highly visible and of decent quality in the photo as we will need to scan it.

5. At the close of the competition, 'After' photos must be posted up on the forum by Monday 6th April (up until 20.00).
As stated, no contributions can be accepted after that date / time.
These photos will then be compiled into a thread, giving a 'Before' and 'After' comparison.

Important::  You will need to show evidence of your after photo.
Please download the Final Verification Code and do one of the following:
- Print out and hold out in the camera's view
- Hold out your phone/tablet with the code displayed to the camera
- Put on your TV / Computer screen visible to the camera
Please NoteThe Verification Code must be highly visible and of decent quality in the photo as we will need to scan it.
There will be separate female and male categories.

6. MuscleTalk members will then be asked to assess the changes competitors have been able to achieve in their physiques over the period of the competition and vote for the member who they feel has made most progress over the time period.

7. Depending on the number of members who make it through to the end date with ‘After’ photos, the overall winner will either be decided from the first round of voting or, if sufficient participation, a second round may be necessary to determine the MuscleTalk Shape-Up Male and Female winner.

8. At the very end of the competition, the results and details of the winners / finalists will be posted up in a dedicated thread.

We wish all competitors the very best of luck.

Hi Haribo,

I've decided to leave the challenge a week early. I hope that my date 'stamp' is acceptable.

Thanks!
