Todays sessions - Decided against deads as save strength for tomorrow. Run out of porridge so had bran flakes instead - were ok but did bloat me more then porridge. Seeing where my strict press is this session., aim was 1 clean rep at 60kg. Easy target I hoped to build off

Lets start on negative - on 3rd or 4th set of squats my left knee went numb in the hole, no pain but very uncomfortable. Was sleeveless but shouldn't need sleeves at this weight. Feels weak and 'off'' at moment on the left joint/lower side of my knee. Can feel it if when pushing off of chair if push more with my left leg. Could it be IT band again or strength imbalance? Will see how it is next couple days. Took front video below to check knees for valgus and weirdly right knee has a slight wobble but left is fine. Hoping its a one off but comments welcome...
 
Positive note - exceeded expectations on press. Reps looked easier on reviewing video then they felt actually doing them, stronger now on these and fatigued from bench/tric work so there is a good potential 1RM down the line.
 
Rest of sesh quick pump blast, avoided any lower body movements as don't want to disrupt knee more and want it fresh, or fresh as can be for deads tomorrow.

Hmmm, it may be to small an indiscretion to give credit to your issue (as they say, there is no perfect squat, only a perfect squat for you) but if you pause yourself in the video when right in the hole I think you deviate slightly to the right of staying central and as a result the left knee appears (altho it could be how the video and angle looks) but it appears to take your knee off track and not staying over your toes.
 
Now you aren't central in the frame anyway for the vid, and its slightly off perfectly horizontal too so this could all be a trick on the eye from the film itself. And it's not a huge amount either but it does look as tho you slightly go off to the right, which is pulling your left knee just inside your toe line.
 
Otherwise, all solid work

Squats looking fine in vid for sure..when was the last time you had a sports massage...could be a build up of tightness pulling on attatchments causing pain mate.

My camera never is straight when I film as always balance it on something. Really need to use the tripod more. But interesting what you have commented - will do a front view of heavy deads next week and see what footage shows...

January this year. Well overdue but had to tighten the finances with little one coming and wife off work, next year will schedule some in. Taking my foam roller away with me as well as couple bands so see if I can loosen body up. Cheers press was decent considering tri fatigue and been push pressing last few months. See where I can get it over next few months.

Knee feels better today but being wary of it and not pushing it. Plan for lunges/farmers walked will be shelved today - deads is enough pressure on the knee for today.

Deads moved very well. Can feel im working for each rep now but making good progress. Did film both sets but 2nd set corrupted so only 1st set up. Looking back when I started this journal 18 months ago Have to see not made bad progress. Gone from struggling for 160kg for 1 to a good point on deads now with weight for reps & 1RM. On week  8 of 11 now on this block and realised I haven't used a belt yet - may just follow this through to get 200 for 1. Its still an itch I need to scratch doing a beltless 200.
 
Away for a long weekend in Centre Parks so no training till Monday but lots of swimming and packing bands and foam roller to get a stretch/release knots etc

Thanks mate. Took me a while to get used to them but couldnt go back to high bar now - just feels unnatural. As long as bar is locked in nice no chance will fall off

Lovely short break in centre parks. good food, some good drink, quality family time and little one had 3 extra teeth that have now cut through. Come back very relaxed and very motivated to smash last couple weeks training of the year and touch wood hit my targets for next 3 weeks.

YES. Another little milestone hit on squats today. At the stage where having to work hard for each rep but was a better session then last weeks heavy and completed an extra rep on heavier weight also from last week. Last set back was taking over a lot but ground it out well. Possibly 1 more set there but was happy to call it and move on deads. Deads moved great - again better then last week. Flying up so hoping speed is building well. Quick leg blast to end as had to get back to work. Typia;;y the 2nd set was the best set but the camera fell over so no video to show.
 
Plan next week will be last week at doubles so weight will go up to 170kg and see how many doubles I can get. Week after is PB day. Will work up to 172.5kg for 1 rep, then 175 for 1, 175.5 kg for 1 etc etc  hoping I have enough to get close or hit 1 rep of 180kg.

A relaxed time after cutting 3 teeth... that's a bonus, mine boy was a right grumpy sod when he was cutting his. Glad you had a good break tho dude.
 
I'm gonna call that you stopped when you should. That last set was breaking down and I don't think I would be giving you +ve feedback on what another set might have looked like. You don't want ugly reps, all reps should be with good form otherwise you educate your body in to bad mechanics

Quality resting mate, R and R with the family is important.  Good news about the teeth, I remember those days, no major dramas but very disruptive. Shows how much you needed the break with how you smashed that session.  great work.

They popped through Sunday night luckily so by then had enjoyed most of holiday and spent last day walking around which she enjoyed. She is very grumpy now and has a cold so not at her best.
Yep that's how the reps felt - form was breaking down and relying more on back but happy I ground out that last rep.
