Holy triceps they are pumped! Surprised myself with pressing strength today after bench. bench went well and achieved target of 3 sets of doubles, next week see if I can get a double at 100. Pressing form broke on 3rd rep of 3rd set as back started arching to help get up - but if was doing without bench fatigue could of got more reps/weight. Pressing making good progress. Fun doing dips again and triceps will get some great benefit from it which should hopefully crossover to pressing. I feel very motivated for bench/pressing at moment which I haven't felt for a long time usually reserved motivation for just deadlift & squat!

Absolutely buzzing for training, could not wait to get there and get started.

BW 87.4 kg Dare I sat looking slightly leaner in the mirror...?!

Deadlift
20 x 8
60 x 5
100 x 3
140 x 3
160 x 2
*Belt on*
185 x 3
185 x 3

Warrior Rows
100 x 6
100 x 6
100 x 6

Banded Pullups
x 10
x 10
x 10

Speed Squats
20 x 5
60 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2

Decided on using belt at moment as desperate to hit 200 in 2 weeks, don't care if belted now just need to achieve this. Wore it slightly higher then squats (Thank you Alan Thrall YT vid) and although alien wearing one can see benefit of bracing into the belt. Reps were not fast off floor but of more importance was setting up and getting good start position, I knew weight was comfortable and achievable for reps. If anything they felt very quick once past knees, but I don't like grip/rip as like a controlled start.. I could of added another 2 sets for sure but sticking to plan and not deviating. Video's below for review as always.

Rows added an extra rep, pullups great finisher for back and arms although may need to add another set now. Squats 45 secs rest to really get the HR up and keep a good groove on it.

To add to my gym shenanigary tales - noticed lad curling with oly bar in squat rack, back curved and jumping/humping the weights up twisted and looking like ready to snap. Was carrying round a bottle of caffeine shampoo?! Maybe its a new nose torque im unaware of...??

That wraps up training for this week as team xmas do tomorrow - curry and drinks. Will potentially be a heavy one so weekend to recover.

1st set

2nd set

I find it very hard to imagine that 200 isn't comfortably there, just get the mental block out of the way. It's sounding you are a bit like me, slow to break the floor but if you get it up near your knees it's never not going to be locked at the top... I also can't just walk up and rip off, I take a good few seconds bracing and bobbing

That is very familiar indeed. Also 200 is there, no doubt at all.

No way on earth 200kg is not there now...those triples were cake...form looking good too these days btw.

From the way those moved i'd say your max is more around the 205kg-207.5kg area.

Mentally get your head in the game...you've put the work in and over 200kg is there, just load it and pull it.

Correct mate just need to shake the mental block - although I feel quietly confident. Not hyping myself up weeks in advance like before.

Cheers mate been a slow learning curve on form but feel lifts are best they have been now. Not looking past 200 yet mate - been 18 months gunning for it so I need to make the lift and break the spell of 200.

Smashing slow cooker roast beef last night with roasted veg/taters. My god was it good. Followed by a small bag of peanut butter M&M's (half bag ate Saturday! Portion control). God I love PB M&M's

OH HELL YEAH!! Plan went perfectly today - as only have this and next week left for squat plan. Dropped to singles. The 170 & 172.5 move as well as I could of hoped. The 175 f*ck me - hardest lift I have ever had to complete. 2 sticking points in the lift and fully aware form was massively breaking down and felt like a good morning coming up but don't care. Its a PB and perfect form cant always happen. If I don't hit heavier next week I will end this year over the moon with squat progress. Aim next year will be to get to 200kg squat. Massive massive goal but all of 2019 to get to it and im confident can push towards that.

Will catch up on journals tomorrow.

The walk out looks strong and confident.... the manner with which you stick and look like you are completely going to have to bail on the lift but then suddenly just push thru it is bizarre (in a good way). The 172 basically looked like you intentionally stuck a mini pause in once you started to get out of the hole other than the look on your face telling a different story LOL. 175 seemed to move better. Congrats on nailing the lifts tho

Great stuff mate! 3 consecutive PB's, thats why we do this! That 172.5 was a good grind so the fact that you even attempted the 175 after is commendable let alone completing it. 180 is probably there fresh mate.

The way you always push through the sticking point is really impressive so well done. I doubt many could actually do that. It's amazing what a slow cooked beef dinner and bag of M&M's can do lol.

I know mate it does look bizarre reviewing the footage. Its something I want to work on next year as would be nice to not hit sticking point each life - unless that's just the way im designed to squat. Will never give up on a grind - think dropped one rep last 18 months through grind.  Cheers mate

Im still on a slight high. One of the best sessions ive ever had. I hope so mate - next week is last week before xmas break so barely any training. Question is do I build from 177.5kg up to 180 or just go. Will have a good think on that how I approach next weeks final big squat sesh of the year.
Cheers mate its just something ive always been able to do - never doubt myself that ill make the lift once unrack it
