How you finding off-season so far mate?


Im enjoying it but tts different from what im used to - I have to stick to my rep/weight range and not push further. Only small weight increases a week. Very much foundation laying so to speak at the moment. Next comp not till end of year so plenty of time to get stronger and work on weaknesses. Ox has some great things in mind so I know I will do well over the coming year

Was the wifes 30th over weekend and still feeling it now. We went to a cocktail bar Saturday 3pm - you bring your own spirits and have a assigned barman all night who makes cocktails with what people bring (they provide the mixers etc). Prob about 10 diff spirits plus a couple beers while waiting for cocktails to be made - we were home by 9:30, quick pitstop ta the chippy and crashed out. 
Although we both did wake a few times to be sick - very much lightweights nowadays. Spent all yesterday hungover over her familys so not much time to relax and unwind. Cant say ate much sat at all so yest and today trying to get calories back in so I have a good training session tomorrow.
 
Was a great weekend but my god we both suffer now with sessions! I have to get through my best mates stag do end of month so cant wait for that! 
 
Its the little ones 1st birthday next weekend as well so the festivities keep coming but will be much more lowkey - just a BBQ and some family over so much more chilled.

Yeh was a great night and a good way to celebrate her birthday. 2 days ais my hangover curse now. But right as rain to train today. Its more the stag do in a couple weeks that will really take it out of me!

1st 3 week micro cycle done. Deads absolutely flying today - weight feels more then comfortable and having to 'hold back' and stick to the plan as could of smashed reps/weight today. RDL's notched up weight slightly again and reps DV smooth. Will knock forward again next week as well. 
Went to straps for deadlift rows and massive difference - lift felt much more comfortable and weigh easier to move - more there for next week. Suitcase deads were interesting today - using an old bar with no knurling in middle so grip really got a workout. Just completed the 67.5's but grip was failing - used wraps for last set and although still gripping tight as I can using the wraps helped move the heavier weight. Still want to limit the sets I use wraps on so will try and save for last set for now. CG pulldowns kept weight slightly lower to really get a good ROM and full stretch while I was waiting for squat rack. 
Squats - weight was fine and getting good drive up. Tendon clicking still every rep but need to be patient as only 2 weeks into rehab programme. Mentally I feel ready to push more and test it but theres no rush and physically its more sensible to keep building slow.

Was awesome mate, nothing better then a banging deadlift sesh. Ill pop vids next weeks session - i dont always want to video each sessions as just like to enjoy being in the moment but they are good for reviewing form etc

It seems your Mrs and my Mrs share the same birthday, although mine is 6 yrs older, I'm her toyboy lol.
 
Weekend cocktail making sounds good, although I'm such a lightweight it would be wasted on me. I struggle with hangovers terrible now, so I tend to avoid drinking too much in general, although I still have to let my hair down every so often. This weekend is my clubbing weekend, so will be having a few then, hoping that I don't feel the after effects of it for too long. I timed my current blast to finish this week so it won't affect my training this time.
 
Does your physio recommend you squatting with this tendon problem, or is the squatting part of the rehab? Usually a physio would tell you to stop doing the exercise that's causing the tendon to pop.

happy birthday to the mrs mate! Im 2 years older then mine although mental age im her toyboy haha
 
Was better as we had a designated barman to make drinks for us so could just chat and muck about with our group. Lots of booze consumed and I did feel it sunday but luckily I puked most of it up sat night otherwise hangover would of been worse. Im avoiding it as much as poss this year apart from special occasions and 2 holiday im on. Not worth the hangovers anymore! That's good timing there mate fri and sat clubbing or just the one day?
