Back from a lovely week off in centre parks with the fammo. Lots of beer lots of food out, completely switched off from training. Was very much looking forward to session today - was very irritable this morn as body was craving exercise.

Great sessoon back. Kept deads beltless as still a comfy weight and the 175 was no real effort and moved well. Rdl’s & rows felt powerful and had lots more. Suitcase deads my strongest set yet and could of got more reps.
Squats moved stance in half a food width per side - reps felt good so will continue with this.
All in all a great first session back

Hammy is fine but knee is still achey/twinge. Im going to get a 2nd opinion and maybe a scan in next couple weeks as not convinced of initial diagnosis - no reason to doubt but just a niggle in my mind may be something else

Was prob well needed but never a fan of disrupted training. Off again this weekend on a 4 day stag so doing what I can at moment.

Not my best benching today - reps just felt sloppy. Wasn't happy so added a 4th rep which felt more controlled. Floor press felt better and strong - pleased with reps I had on that. Smith OH felt str9ongest yet - need to getr a vid of this really as think reps are controlled and strong but have to face mirror so not much room to position a camera. Flys kept weight light for this week to get the stretch back. EZ and pressdowns destroyed tri's and good session ender.
 
Back on squats tomorrow - slightly narrower stance so vids will go up tomorrow for it...

Plan slowly increasing for squats - these felt like speed reps. Stance slightly narrower and seems to be working well so will keep this change and keep working.
 
Upped dead weight slightly and good power generated on these. Lunges tough but fun and hammy curl/crab walks finished me off. Was meant to leg press but machine was in constant use and by end of crab walks legs like jelly and didn't want to wait so back to the showers.

Not gunna lie that was a tough session. 1 day break between bench sessions took its toll - right pec/shoulder was tight and couldn't get that explosiveness on the drive up but ground out what I could. Quite happy still managed a small increase on dead bench and fresher next week will increase again . 
Had to drop a rep on slingshot but next weke when fresher I think I have 3 sets of 6 so will be aiming for that. rets of set lowered weight as didn't want to drop reps and got it done. Could of pushed weight heavier on some but as shoulder/pecs was so tight not worth picking up a niggle.

Im back. Barely. Still destroyed. 
 
Fantastic stag do - Portugal was surprisingly great - was like being back in kavos/malia type places in my early 20's. Pretty much solid boozing/partying Thursday night and came home Monday morning. Sunday was massively ill - spent most of the day feverish, banging headache, vomiting, shakes, hallucinating. Was scary, mates reckon drink got spiked I said could be heatstroke. Either way not best way to spend last day of stag - should add no naughty pills or anything from me. Don't touch that stuff. 
 
Anyway took me couple days to feel human again but nearly human so time to train. Amazing how much I still feel affected. Thank god that was the last stag/lads weekend away this year. Apart from a couple weddings and 30th's no more big boozey sessions.

Sacked off speed squats as trying not to vomit and feeling woozy by this point. And dodgy knee aching.
Weights weren't a struggle but sweat was pouring off me horribly, and took longer rests then normal to compose myself. Glad sesh done and under my belt and now getting food/fluids back on track. 
 
Await referral to orthopaedist for my knee so hopefully next week or so can see a specialist and get a proper diagnosis on it.

Was it hot enough to get heatstroke...? or is that combined with dehydrating yourself thru booze too adding to the ill effects of the heat/sun? Glad you survived it anyhoo

Yeah sounds rough mate. Up in bali they've had a few deaths from dodgy bars putting ethanol in drinks. Few horror stories of people going blind drinking abroad too. Need to be careful these days.
 
Good stuff getting in and giving the weights a bash though. Some water food and sleep you will be back to 100%

Probably dodgy alcohol tbh, I've never really believed these 'my drink got spiked' stories. Not with lads anyway, I know there are some cvnts that would spike a girls drink with GHB just to take advantage of them, but to just random lads I can't see why it would happen, and definitely not to a powerlifter either!
 
Plus, if my drink was ever spiked, I'm pretty sure I'd be buzzing all night lol.
 
Glad all is well now anyway mate, and you had a good time. I proper miss my lads holiday years, I actually get depressed about it sometimes which is ridiculous, but I can't help it. Few of my mates are off to Ibiza in a few weeks and I'm so bloody jealous its killing me, the gainz is my new focus now, and the kids of course lol.
