Cracking work bud :) Nails is spot on yup, drop weight a little and aim for the higher end of the rep range with floor press mate :) Don't wipe yourself out on an accessory movement :) 

Cheers mate. Yup will drop next week and aim for 8 reps, every other assistance music im aiming for max reps required according to plan while moving weight forward if can.

Lets hope so mate. I really think I have a good couple PB’s coming on platform and gunna work my ar*e off to make it happen.

Was looking at the last regional results for BDFPA and my weight class (unequipped) some interesting reading. Squats were between 137.5 - 227.5, Bench 95 - 137.5 & Deadlift 185-237.5. Clearly wont affect my initial openers as first comp still for the experience but was curious to see last results

You'll probably exceed what your own expectations are at the comp mate. I seriously under played mine, and took it far too safe. I would have absolutely blitzed my 3 lifts if I had been braver.

You'll probably exceed what your own expectations are at the comp mate. I seriously under played mine, and took it far too safe. I would have absolutely blitzed my 3 lifts if I had been braver.


Although im aiming for PB's I wont have wild expectations and will try and be calm on the day. Wont be till near the time that we (me/ox) decide on openers anyway. Its a strange one as I wanna smash it and do well but at same time not worry about hitting big PB's and just enjoy lifting on the day. Suppose key is not overthinking it in the lead up and just focusing on training.

No gym today and no stretching/rolling - will foam roll home tonight.
 
Decided to go for a walk instead as needed to get away from office and also avoid pubs so had a hour wander round city up/down Thames/Tower bridge/borough market, music on and trying to plod along slowly as usually to/from station i'm bombing along fast as I can. Nice and fresh for it as well today.

Chatting to wife and she says im looking beefier now compared to summer when I was closer to 90kg. Nice!

Eyeing up 2nd comp now - found a novice one on 3rd August in Towcester (near Northampton) for 1st or 2nd time eventers. Will message and see. BDFPA dont seem to run many events that I can see in a year and aftwr my event its euro’s and worlds etc and I womt be doing that .

Too soon to look at next comp?

A beefier look is certainly the look we are after mate lol.
 
I don't know where to start when it comes to looking for PL meets, there's that many feds and all have different rules that it seems like a huge task to find one sometimes. Especially finding one nearby.

You'd need to compete in bpu or gpo mate as you're not natty. I like the BPU, its well run and comps are good.

I did notice my shirts are tighter but better getting compliments off the wife then me thinking im bigger. The beefy look is the way to go.
 
I started online but mainly through FB pages now and finding diff feds and what I feel is suitable for me. You thinking of the Towcester one then? Where you based now?

Nice I thought as much. I have a stag in April & wedding june so plenty of time to accommodate those in as will be drink blowouts! But enough time to recover and get back on it etc
 
Good you know of BPU and well run comp - will contact them later and get registered for comp

Just be aware most of those competing in BPU will most likely be assisted bud, some feds won't let you compete in other feds too, they can be funny like that. Need to pick a fed and stick with it really mate.

Was slightly apprehensive today as left hammy really tight last night but rolling seemed to of helped. Squats were hard hard work, but I was so disappointed last week at missing reps no chance missing this week. Form not the best ive done but main goal today was hitting those reps out, and was trying to focus more on leg drive then back taking over. There is back movement going in last couple of reps but not as much as last week and hopefully start dialling it in better as weight increase/reps decrease. Did video 1st set but phone fell over so 2nd set only to view.
 
Banded deads moved much quicked on video review then they felt, will leave weight as it for next week and if still moving that quick add another 5kg.
 
Moved leg press weight forward but reduced reps to 15 as time conscious as squats/deads take a good chunk of time up - room to move weights forward again next week. Had to superset leg ext and pulldowns and did not rest in between as time nearly up but got a good rhythm going and did not rush reps. Solid session in all I would say.

Gutsy work on the squats mate...I think the first few weeks of your plan are the hardest tbh so it should get easier.if heavier from now on lol.
 
Up the weight of speed deads, moving very quickly, we can afford to go heavier again.

I did that just find that actually when researching, the BDFPA and GBPF are out of bounds to me now I'm a steriod abusing junkie lol. Curse my low testosterone!
 
I will have a look into the others. It's suprising how little information on upcoming comps there is on the some of the websites I've been on.

I was tempted until Ox pointed out that I would be cheating if I did lol. It's not too far from me though, I'm in Tamworth so just over an hour away.
 
Quality squat reppage there mate, those last couple of reps looked brutal.
