Not going to lie I really struggled with squats today, just was not clicking. Form felt really off and was using my back far to much to get reps home. I am not really used to anything above 5 from 100 onwards but still disappointed 2nd set only managed 8 - legs just melted. Next week and repeating the whole of this weeks sessions so WILL nail 10 reps. Will get used to the volume just not natural at moment so need to power through. Vid below of 2nd set.
Rest of session good although jelly legged still for the deads - can push these another 5kg I think next week. Leg press was first time ive used this for years so still judging the weight, can move these forward next week.
Plan called for hammer row machine but have a cable version row machine so attached a bar and got job done.
 
Last session either tomorrow or Sat morn - will see how I feel in morn.

Great to see how high your motivation is now you've booked into this comp. Once that goal has been set its all you'll be thinking about.
 
I'm still yet to try floor press for some reason. Need to pull my finger out.

High rep weeks are the tough ones mate...you don't have time to repeat the whole week though to get all sessions in before the comp mate, move on to next week as planned, its just an off day.

High rep squats are not fun I remember back when I was doing the aptly names 20 rep widowmakers in DC training. Not fun.

That' the one yeh Top notch film.
20 reps would end me right now - no endurance for the higher rep work at moment. Massively out of practise on it!

Can feel the benefit now! Climbing up flight of stairs for gym and then 4 flights stairs to get back into work was not fun although I refuse to take the lift!

Anything over 5 reps is cardio! My chest is hairy enough don't worry - chestbeard as the wife dubs it

Supps update -
 
In addition to my whey & creatine  am now using Himalyan pink salt on all savoury meals and intra workout.
From tomorrow am adding glutamine PWO and cyclin dextrin & EAA intra WO along with the pink salt.
 
Added multivit, vit D & cod liver oil also.
 
Will review after a month and see what difference if any these make

Are you in a weight class? Do you have to stay under a certain %.

Hockley’s is literally 8min drive from me! Had a look. It it’s the drug free fed! My kind is not welcome lol

Ill likely be in 90kg class but don't have to commit to a class until I weigh in on the day. Class down is 82.5kg so likely with my weight stable around 86-87 ill be 90. But if im heavier or lighter ill on the day ill go in relevant class. This is all about experience for me.
 
Its 25 mins for me to drive there. Have to find a mutual gym for a session at some point.

Real fun session today - dead and slingshot was a new experience. Took a while finding groove and getting reps feeling 'right' which meant I missed bicep work as time run out but session's will go quicker now I feel more dialled in in on setup/movement. With every movement was experimenting with weight to find a good working weight so now I have a better idea for next week.
 
Triceps are smashed and chest was pumped like crazy. Not going to lie I took a few sneaky glances in mirror or myself pumped up - I had a vest on so rude not to.
 
Couple days rest and start again Monday. Will hit foam roller tomorrow as body needs it - DOMS all over thighs and arms.
 
Dead bench - 2nd set

Nice mate... With the dead/pin press pause on the pins longer... A good 4-5 seconds between each rep.

Keep pushing this accessory work hard.

Nice work on the bench today, dead bench is a good idea.
 
Agree with you on your squats. Alot of back movement/good morning going on in the ascent, I get this from time to time and leaves me with a horrendous back pump, my own diagnosis has been having the bar too low on my back. I squat high bar normally.
