Just about alive! haha I wish I could count my beer gains as im def showing some!
 
Nope no logging this week as its just getting my body back in the swing and about 2/3'rd effort so wont be impressive.
 
Today - Squats, Push press (military), Walking lunges (Holding barbell vertical), front/side shoulder raise, planks & 10 mins cross trainer

And normality resumes, felt good to be back training properly. Im layering up as well clothing wise as getting a good sweat going. Session lasted around 50 mins.
Squat
20 x 12

Squats not as heavy as I would like but still working on my form and making sure im not half repping. Weight will come in good time and ill be back to 140 & hopefully above soon enough
 
Walking Lunges - 1 x 12kg KB per hand. Length around 20 meteres
4 sets
Absolute killer - shaky legs at end and even lower back was feeling the strain.
 
Strict Military Press
20 x 12

60 x 3 PB Reps
60 x 2
50 x 5
Very happy with the 60 for 3 reps. Was struggling to push press this so to get this with strict press is a win for me.
 
Good proper session back for me.

Cheers brett. Yeh felt good. The weeks rest and light sessions last week seem to of helped. Will see if I can still hit big numbers on bench/deadlift this week.
Will be squatting again end of week (twice a week squat now) so hopefully will push some more weight on that also

So today was meant to be a rest day as tomorrow is gunna be intensive but couldn't help myself - having some beers fri and sat so got the guilty feeling like I should do something...
 
Deadlift - Although I normally look forward to this all week back felt tight and not 100% so did not expect session to be amazing

Nice sweat and heart rate up. Wanted to do more but had to fit work in.
 
6 weeks until my honeymoon now. May make an effort to add some hypertrophy & volume work to bring out bit more of a beach bod for the mrs, would prob need to lose a couple kg with bodyfat going down. Wont do anything tho to impede strength as still want this to keep ticking over and increase.

Cheers mate. Getting there - was hard to get away from the chest day, back day, shoulder day etc but very much enjoying all the compounds sessions now. Strength is only going improve (he prays)

It will mate. Only thing I could suggest at this point is limiting the warm ups. Lots of reps there and will eat into energy. Otherwise good stuff!

Starting to love my squats again. Training squats twice a week is very enjoyable at moment and hopefully will help me to start pushing numbers forward to the 150 mark in the next 4 weeks. May start adding an extra deadlift session in as well if my legs/back can take it!

140kg squat is nice. I've not been able to crack 150 for various reasons it is becoming a mental hurdle now I think!

Yeh 140 is feeling good. Ill increase to 145 next session for a new 1RM. My right knee feels sore now so hopefully eont impede when i train squats again in a couple days.
How long u been working on 150?

I got up to 142.5kg 5x5 on stronglifts but then took a week off. That screwed me and since then I've switched to DC training and slowly working back up. Heavy set for squats is currently 142.5kg 1x7. Hoping to get to 150 by July, depending on sciatica!

I'm not good at time off TBH. I find I always come back weaker lol. Can't bear to flush a few weeks hard earned reps down the toilet!
 
The week off I mentioned resulted in me coming back into stronglifts and then getting massive DOMS after the first squat sesh. I am talking virgin trainer DOMS, as in can't fcuking walk DOMS. It just seemed that I couldn't get back on the horse after that and it really affected the training.
 
If I did it again I would just do light deload sessions instead of taking the time off.

Nice work JayBoy. You don't look weak at pull ups to me, most people struggle to get any at all.
 
Im the same Brett, if I have time off altogether from training, even if it is just a week, I come back weaker, or I at least feel weaker. I prefer a deload or lighter session instead.
 
Unfortunately with the pressures of life and other stuff you have to get done you cant help but take some time off at times.

 
1RM's @ BW 90kg:
Squat - 175kg / Bench - 125kg / Deadlift - 210kg / Strict OHP - 85kg
