Job application question help?

"What languages are you fluent in, please state below" This may sound really stupid but do I need to put "English" ? as it is the only language I speak, or is it more for people who talk a little French / Spanish

I'd rather look like a muppet on here than after sending the application off

    I personally would put english.

It asks which languages i'm fluent in. I'm fluent in English.

I personally wouldn't put anything, they are referring IMO to a second language not your native tongue.

I would put English too. I think if they meant second languages it would say something like 'Are you fluent in any other languages apart from English?'

How will they know what his native language is?

There are lots of people where I live who are not fluent in English!

If he was french then he would put French, as he is doig the application in Englaish and you omit putting anything into the box then they know you can't speak any other language. I personally would think someone was being a little sarcastic if they put English and that's the only language they speak

Just because he has filled out a job application with English questions does not mean he is fluent in English.

The applicant may have had a friend or relative help them 'tick some boxes'! This is all some job applications are.
