    Chest

    Bicep

    Quad

    Calf

My weaknesses are obviously my legs and pecs. So hopefully I'll be able to address this soon enough. Still, I don't it's too bad a base to be working from. =)

    Wednesday 26th July

    Workout 1!

    Light Squats 4x8 @ 35kg - 8, 8, 8, 8
    Good mornings 3x8 @ 30kg - 8, 8, 8
    Shoulder Press - 5*5 @30kg
    Pullups - 4 x max - 13, 9, 6, 5

Was a pretty decent opener, everything went up easy which was nice. Everything will be going up by the next workout.

Squats felt too light tbh. Wasn't really breathing heavily or anything but I thought I'd play it safe first time round. Good Mornings weren't bad at all but I was a bit wary of adding too much first time round and doing an injury. The movement feels a bit weird but I'll adapt to it I'm sure .
Shoulder Press was piss. I reckon I could probably do 35kg next time; I mean I had to clean all the Squats and Good Mornings and that wasn't too taxing. Started the pull-ups well but felt sapped by the end. Nice base though =).

Definite room for improvement but I'm ready!

Quick question- At what point should I add weight to the pullups?

    Thursday 27th July

    HIIT

    20 min skipping

    1 min full out, 1 min rest. x 10

Was decent. Always love to get the old heart pumping and the lungs gasping for air. Ended up sweating like a bitch at the end though. Not too attractive.

    Friday 28th July

    Workout 2!

    Squats 5*5 - 35kg, 40kg, 45kg, 45kg, 45kg

    Bent over row 5*5 - 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 55kg

    Incline Bench 5*5 - 50kg, 50kg (4), 50kg, 50kg, 50kg (1)

    Skull crushers 2*12-20 -20kg (10), 20kg (8)

Was VERY pissed off at the end of this sesh.

Couldn't do the 3rep thing in the squats because I can't clean and press more than 45 atm. It's ****ing ghey! ARGH! 45 for squats feels too easy. I want something more taxing. Any other alternatives to back squats atm? I'm poor student so buying a squat rack is out of the question right now. Front squats perhaps?

Bent over rows were great. Weight was going up nicely and it didn't feel too heavy at any point. Last rep of the last set was perhaps the last rep I could have done. PERFECT! Up to 60 maybe next time. Fingers crossed.

Bench was annoying. Apart from the 2nd set it was feeling great and then all of a sudden I felt zapped in the last set. Only 1 rep . Next time I'll get a full five damn it!

Skull crushers weren't fantastic. Kept decent form throughout but I couldn't reach the 12 reps . I'll stick with this weight though; definitely felt the burn in the old triceps. It was good

    HIIT

    20 mins

2x 5 min skipping- 30 sec full out, 30 sec moderate pace x5.
    ~2 min rest between intervals.

    4 x 30 burpees, 50 star jumps, 100 skips FLAT OUT!!!
~ a min rest between intervals.

This felt . Really felt worn out by the end of the burpee, star jump and skip sets. Was great =D.

    Monday 31st July

    Workout 3!

    Squats 5*5 55kg, 60kg, 60kg, 65kg, 65kg

    Deads 5*5 55kg, 55kg, 60kg, 60kg, 65kg

    DB Bench Press 5*5 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg

    Incline DB Press 2*12-20 - 13kg (12), 13kg (12)

Felt great after this session. The numbers still aren't great but I'm feeling a definite improvement in each lift. This better keep progressing!

Squats were rather easy at 55kg so I kept pushing the weight up a bit until I found a place that made me really apply myself without going all out; 65kg seemed to be that place. Luverly =)

Same went for the Deads really. Once I reached 65kg I felt my heart pumping a fair bit! AWETHOME! Haha. Hopefully these two lifts are gonna take my puny 20in quads and make tree trunks out of them.

Bench was decent. Was feeling quite safe with them throughout. May bump these weights up a tad. It's all good ! \m/

Incline DB press was a bit boring really. Quite a light weight but I only managed 12 reps out of them =(. I reckon I could have forced out 2-3 more in my first set but I didn't want to ruin my second set. Ah well. It's a base to improve on I suppose.

I WILL GET STRONGER DAMN IT!

    Tata!!!!

    Wednesday 26th July

    Workout 4!

    Light Squats 4x8 @ 50kg - 8, 8, 8, 8

    Stiff Legged Deadlift 3x10 40kg, 45kg, 50kg

    Shoulder Press - 5*5 35kg (5), 35kg (5), 35kg (5), 35kg (4.5 ), 35kg (4.5)

    Pullups - 5*5 - 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (4), 7.5kg (3)

Wasn't too bad. Really felt like the squats and deadlifts were effect. The deadlifts in particular were fantastic; got an awesome pump in my lower back. Loving it .

The Shoulder Press was annoying. Got the weights up easily for the first three sets and then when the last two were going well I couldn't get the bloomin' fifth reps complete. Wasn't a happy bunny. I'll stick to this weight next week. Or perhaps I should do some dips...hmmm...

Pullups were grand. Did a set of unweighted for a quick warm-up and managed 15! with perfect form. Was rather pleased with this. Hehe. Thought about going for 10kg but didn't want to take it too fast. 7.5kg was good enough anyway. Bit annoyed I couldn't finish the last two sets but meh. It was ok for today.

I'm getting stronger and I'm loving it! (Also loving the opportunity to eat ****LOADS . Not a single bit has been dirty either. I'm going clean, baby! Haha. Whey arrives today too. Yay!

    Workout 2!

Squats- Warmed up to 3 Reps of 70kg.

    Bent over row 5*5 - 45kg, 50kg, 50kg, 55kg, 55kg

    Incline Bench 5*5 - 23kg (5), 23kg (5), 23 kg (5), 23kg (5), 23kg (5)

    Skull crushers 2*12-20 -20kg (7), 20kg (11)

Started off as a pretty decent workout then went sh1t tbh. Squatting felt great. Everything felt heavy but it went up simple enough, and that's what matters . Then < black thunder clouds circle above > I began feeling weak. The bent-over rows I thought I'd be able to up last week didn't so I was left stranded on 55kg. Still, that weight didn't pose any problems so, fingers crossed, next week they WILL be heavier. Bench wasn't too bad; did it with the bells instead but the numbers are still small. Grr...Gotta start somewhere I suppose. Skulls were the same as last week.

It's strange. I've been eating like a horse and I actually feel leaner than before. Literally 3500+ calories and I've lost some fat. This better continue!

HIIT to come soon so I'll be shattered again.

interesting, be carefull mate not too overload with the training, Work load will increase in time, remember that when you are doing pure 5 rep maxes, it is extremely taxing on your body, and recovery will optimally take longer, i used to do the same, go do hiit even when i would be tired etc, Play it safe and make sure too listen too your body, if it says your tired, Time too back off, you aint tired for no reason, In your caser your liftings more important as your looking too gain some size, dont be afraid too take that day off etc if need be for optimal recovery, so you can perform top notch with your next weight session.

Ah right, cheers. I think it's a little bit of over-exuberance on my part tbh. I don't want to be stuck inside doing nothing. Being at home for so long with the holidays and shizzle is making it worse, grr. Yesterday, I did nothing whatsoever either. It's against my nature I suppose, lol. I never was one of those children who could stay still for long!

    Workout 6!

    Squats 5*5 70kg, 70kg, 70kg, 70kg, 70kg

    Deads 5*5 70kg, 70kg, 70kg, 70kg, 70kg

    DB Bench Press 5*5 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg

    Incline DB Press 2*12-20 - 13kg (15), 13kg (15)

Squats were good, felt heavy but they went up and came down smoothly enough . Same with deads really. My back felt AWESOME after the deads actually, lovely pump, hehe.

Dunno why I didn't up the weight with the bench; I think I may have forgotten :-s. Silly me! Next week though!

Did a quick cheeky measurement today, put an inch on my chest, quads, and neck(!) AND half an inch on my biceps and calves. To make it all the sweeter, my waist has stuck at 29 1/2 inches. SCORE!

    Wednesday 26th July

    Workout 7!

    Light Squats 4x8 @ 55kg - 8, 8, 8, 8

    Stiff Legged Deadlift 3x10 45kg, 50kg, 55kg

    Shoulder Press - 5*5@ 35kg- 5, 5, 5, 5, 5

    Pullups - 5*5 - 10kg (4), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5)

Was a bit of a late night work-out as I spent the day around my girlfriend's house. Was a good day for exercise really; had a prolonged cardio workout throughout the day and then did some HIIT (or just a sprint) getting back to the station for the last train. You should have seen the speed of me, doubled in fact when I saw her dad coming back. Hahah.

Squats and deads were decent enough, as were the military press. At the end of my sets I had a go at 40kg and managed 3 reps so I may try a set or two of these next week. Might try DBs actually. Hmm...

Added too much weight with pull-ups at 10kg, so I dropped it down back to 7.5kg. Managed it all easy enough from there. I'm too damn optimistic. Haha.

Feeling bigger, faster and stronger. It's great. Eating like a shire horse too , which is also fun. Reduced the cardio down to 1/2 times a week and perhaps just light stuff. I found the HIIT was tiring me a little bit too much, to the detriment of my lifts.

Now I have the afternoon to grapple with some Marxist theory with Lenin's What is to Be Done as light reading. Fun, fun, fun!

    Friday 12th August

    Workout 8!

Squats Warm up to 3*3 reps of 75kg

    Bent over row 5*5 - 55kg, 55kg, 55kg, 55kg, 55kg

    Incline Bench 5*8 - 23kg, 23kg , 23kg, 23kg, 23kg

    Skull crushers 2*12-20 -25kg (8), 25kg (8)

Pissed off with the benching tbh but an otherwise productive sesh. I think my tris are holding me back a bit actually, particularly my left one. The right DB is going up easily.

    Monday 14th August

    Workout 9!

    Squats 5*5 75kg, 75kg, 75kg, 75kg, 75kg

    Deads 5*5 75kg, 75kg, 75kg, 70kg, 70kg

    DB Bench Press 5*10 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg, 23kg

    Incline DB Press 2*12-20 - 13kg (20), 13kg (15)

Deads = dodgy. Felt a bit of a pain just half way down that line that runs from your hip to your particulars. Didn't want to put too much strain on through fear of hernias and the like. Must check my form. Bench is still not budging. Thing is the next increment I can do is up to 28kg, no microweights =(. Might do barbell next time.

    Wednesday 16th August

    Workout 10!

    Light Squats 4x8 @ 55kg - 8, 8, 8, 8

    Stiff Legged Deadlift 3x10 50kg, 55kg, 60kg

    Shoulder Press - 5*5 40kg (5), 40kg (5), 35kg (5), 35kg (4.5 ), 35kg (5)

    Pullups - 5*5 - 10kg (5), 10kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 7.5kg (5), 23 (BW)

Everything felt decent. Shoulder Press is going well; 40kg for all sets next time, I'm sure.

Up to 73.7kg this morning. 3kg increase in a month. Niiiiice!
