Jury Service - Interesting?

Some of you must have done jury service over the years, has anyone been involved in anything at all interesting?

Jury service is dull, dull, dull. I did it while I was studying for a law degree and even I hated it.

The deliberations while trying to find a verdict are quite insightful though, giving a great insight into just how moronic the general population actually is. But apart from that, dull, dull, dull.

i've done. it. really boring, you spend a lot of time sitting waiting for stuff to happen. you need a very understanding employer too, you might be away for a while depending on the case you get.

My mate was up on jury service for a guy who shot dead a drug dealer in Glasgow for unpaid debts, its now the subject of much controversy as they say the guy was unfairly convicted, been on panorama up here etc, my mate says the guy was as guilty as sin.

Said he was shíttíng hmself leaving the court every day as all his mates were there watching.

Our lass did it and liked it. She had a couple of interesting cases though, not run of the mill stuff.

I didn't find it even this exciting, it is much, much duller than Olly says.

They make a big thing out of jury intimidation and how serious it is. I pointed out I was only there because they had intimidated me, but strangely that is not serious at all. It's a bit like being in a coma, but with the disadvantage of not being able to lie still.

As far as I know, forgiveness is for the benefit of the person doing the forgiving, not the one being forgiven

Do you get full financial compensation while on jury duty?

    What if your self employed?

Huh, I always fancied doing jury service, not anymore. Imagine sitting in court in this heat as well....wouldn't be able to stay awake

I was selected twice for jury service, but both times I contacted them to say I suffered from depression so couldn't do it. From what I have heard the comment above is right in that some people are so stupid they call the whole trial-by-jury system into question.
