hmm, think i did drop sets that were like that once! can't remember many actual, long-term use of sets of that rep no.

today's workout - 29-01-2004 (2004! that sounds futuristic when u write it out!)

    Front squats - 97.5kx1, 80x8,4,4
    Push presses - 75x1,1,1
    Cleans - 80x1, 70x3,3,3
    Deads - 130x1
    Chins - bw+20x3,2,1

that's it. must've been tired today cos number were down and felt weak and a little dizzy. had loads of exams recently so haven't been to the gym more than once or twice a week!

Then again, maybe not. Come on Kieran, its not like you management students actually have to work hard, not like us engineering students anyway!

    haha, interesting reading responses!

I've been on a whirlwind tour of LA, Vegas and Chicago the past week and half, hence not been around....however....now that I'm back, view the impressiveness (giggle) that is,

    Deadlifts 160k x 5,5,5 (light)
    Bench 80k x 5,5,5 (heavy)
    Bent over rows 80k x 8,8,8 (light

    Leg raises 1x30 (easy)

    Later: 5 mile run

need to get bench better, but the deadlift bodes well for 3x5 on 180 in the next month or two.

Oh.....and we uni students in manchester at least work incredably hard! we've broken so many drinking records this year that Jack Daniels is gonna sponser our graduation!

youngitalian - u should re-start ur log :) oh, and the 5 miles takes me about 40 mins usually.

will stick at what i'm doing for now since i'm used to high volume, and the existing programe is v. low volume for me. thanks for the advice tho and i'll take it into consideration if i change the program!

Altered the routine a bit (working sets only listed):

    Monday -
    squats 3x5
    push presses 3x3 [85kg]
    weighted chins 3x5
    weighted sit-ups 3x10

    Thursday -
    deadlifts 3x5 [175kg]
    bench press 3x5 [95kg]
    bent over rows 3x8 [100kg]
    leg raises 3x30

The numbers in square brackets are targets for this time next months (the 15th of March). Note no target for squats since haven't done back squats in so long, so don't know where abouts i'd be on them.

    Playing with meal ideas too:

    Meal 1 @ 8am

3 eggs with a little skimmed milk, and some vegetables, scrambled
    1 slice toast

    Meal 2 @ 10.30am

    3 slices turkey bacon
    1 piece fruit

    or (if time a limitation)/

    1 protein shake (300ml skimmed milk, 30 g whey, 1 banana)

    Meal 3 @ 1pm

    Meat (chicken, steak, fish)
    vegetables

    Meal 4 @ 4pm

    *same as meal 2

    Meal 5 @ 7pm

    *same as meal 3

    2 off days per week.

This creates a weekly shopping list of:

    4 pints skimmed milk
    15 eggs
    2 packets frozen veg
    6 packets of turkey bacon
    6lbs of meat

3 litres of apple juice for creatine
