Log Lift Vs Clean & Press

I’ve just been watching the WSM and was wondering if the log lift was harder or easier or the same as doing a clean and press with a barbell with the same weight on it. Im sure J5 or Big_Al can answer this one from experience. Thanks

Are u trying to say that the bar lift is more difficult than the log lift? Or is it the other way round?

its harder i think as its more awkward to hold, more cumbersome so harder to get up and not perfectly balanced

yeah and you have to lean back much more due to the size of the log so it takes some effort to keep your balance

the olympic bar is easier cause the bar revolves on its own sleeves, you can do a full squat clean on a bar the log must be done power clean more power on log good tecnique works more in your favour on a bar. and yes point in fact the leaning back with the log

I find the log lift far harder, i often have to do a three part lift with a heavy log - off the ground onto the lap in a squat, then up to the chest , then the press, it is knackering!
