Log lift world championship

http://startingstrongman....pionship-2015-results/

Eddie Hall, Graham Hicks and Big Z lift 211kg

Big z went for the record but missed 228kg

Their had been some name calling between Eddie and Robert Oberst leading up to this. All he could manage was 180kg!

Sadly I didn't watch this live, but was getting updates from social media and sugden.

Great event, and delighted for Ed and Hixxy to smash a new British record.

Did you see what happened to Ed mate?

How come Ed was awarded the win? FWIW Ed's was the easiest of the 211kg. Didn't realise Hicksy had that level of OH power.

In terms of the log lift, I think it was a 3 way tie between Ed, Hicks and Z. All 3 lifted 211kg but then all went onto fail they're next lifts. I think this is how it went down...

Hicks just lost the 220kg log on the press and dropped it behind him.

Ed blacked out on the press of the 220kg and dropped it on his head.

Z skipped 220 and went straight to 228kg for a new world record but then failed the lift... Which is very unlike him.

Z only just failed it mind. Christ Ed blacked out? Still don't understand how you award a 1st 2nd and 3rd though.

Z was close to nailing that 228.

Didn't know Ed dropped it on his head! He went on to win Britains strongest man afterwards, f*** me he's a beast!

I watched the first half an hour then heard the results later.  Was Ed ok after dropping the log on himself?
