Log of EPICATECHIN - 30 days

Hello,

This is my log of Epicatechin. I'd just like to thank BC and Simon for this opportunity.

I finished my PCT from my last cycle last week, but after my cycle I went off to LA for 2 weeks so didn't train properly, ate poorly etc. Strength has pretty much stayed the same so i'm very interested to see how Epicatechin will work.

Stats:

Weighed in this morning at 93kg, approx. 12% BF.

Routine: Push/Pull/Legs,  Generally I swap my days around a bit, change my exercises/sets around but I usually do all of the big compounds weekly...

Deads or Squats, Mil press, Bench press, weighted dips, BB row, Leg Press, wide grip pull ups, seated row... just to name a few. I swap my sets/rep ranges around by doing between 3-4 sets, rep ranges of 6-8, 8-10 and 10-12 or even the odd 15 If I'm feeling on fire throughout that set.

I'm going to be taking 2 caps a day for 2 months, I started on Thursday just gone. Have trained Legs since but this week i'll write a full writeup of my lifts etc.

I'm looking to lean bulk, aiming to consume 250g protein per day.

Any questions then please ask, i'm more than happy to help.

I'll be honest with the review but am very interested to see how it works.

Cheers

Awesome!
Be interesting to see how yours pans out on a lean bulk.

So did you buy a second pack to get 2 months worth?

No just got the 1, my intended dosing plan should take me up to a week or so before my holiday so I wont need a second. Having said, that on the off chance that I really feel the epi is doing something I may buy more.

Re: Log of EPICATECHIN - 30 days 2014/07/29 09:59:52 (permalink)
So, it's day 5 of Epicatechin.

I trained Back/Bicep/Calfs/Abs yesterday. I'm trying to add in calfs twice a week to see if it makes a difference as they grow pathetically. Trained at a different gym so a few of the exercises were different

Exercises

Wide Grip Pull Ups - 10/10/10/8/6 reps (weighted) Was quite a slippery grip and I've lost a strap
BB Row - On a smaller bar (10kg bar) -
70kg for 15 reps
110kg for 12 reps
130kg for 10 reps x 3

Single arm, cable row - 3 x 15 max on the machine... not going to use this as a comparison

Rear Delts on the reverse pec deck - 3 x 10 @ 60kg

Alternative, single arm, standing Twisted bicep curls - 3 x 8 each arm - 16kg, 18kg, 20kg, 20kg

Single arm db curls using bench for elbow support - 3 x 10 @ 22kg

Calf raises (only machine they had was a leg press machine) - sets of 10, going up by 3 plates per time

Just general abs.

Diet was:

8.30- oats + protein shake
11.30 -  Large Chicken breast, cous cous, veg
2.30 - same as last meal
5pm - Large Chicken Breast with some melted cheese on top
6pm train
7.30 finish
8pm Large chicken breast, cous cous, veg
11pm - protein shake

I've been doing a bbq once/twice a week where I cook 18 chicken breasts at a time which I'm due to do today, healthy and then easy to put some rice or whatever with it.

Looking good... you feel anything from the Epicatechin yet?

IMO you can get away with calf training much more than that, they're made to recover really fast as well as take a lot of pasty so don't be afraid to hammer them.

I try and do heavy calf training at the beginning and end of each training week with a volume session in the middle (M/W/F), they're a tough part to grow but with perseverance you'll get there.

I'd also try and superset them into every other exercise you can, I probably do a set of calves on whatever equipment is available for every other set/bodypart I train.

Nothing yet mate, still early days though to be fair.

Yeah appreciate the advice. My training partner doesn't do any calf work yet people approach him and ask him what he does, i'm like grr haha. Saying that, I don't directly do trap work and my training partners get jealous

I'll try what you've said and see how it helps. My glutes grow very quick but with small calfs people think i don't train legs lol.

Calves can be small depending on genetics, but can always be made bigger.

Agree with this, mine are abnormally big for my frame, never trained them directly. And total leg training has been down to a minimum as of late

Dennis James reckoned he hammered the poop put of them for over a year and there was no size increase whatsoever. Doesn't bother training them at all now apparantly.

...what about stress on achilies heel? - does training hard risk injury here?

Yes. All training increases risk of injury .

I'm 3 days in. Legs today noticed an increase in endurance/lack of lactic burn.
See how this goes.

I'm just on my way to work, but did chest/shoulders/triceps yesterday, diet for the day wasn't great, i was so rushed around but i'll write my numbers up later but will be interesting to compare.

Legs tomorrow... o god haha

Re: Log of EPICATECHIN - 30 days 2014/08/02 09:55:42 (permalink)
So diet and training has been decent in the last few days.

Haven't noticed any changes yet but did legs yesterday. I was training someone and was using a different gym so the machine weights are a tiny bit different.

Squats - kept them quiet light so..

4 x 10 @ 120kg (nice and deep though)

Walking lunges with 20kg each arm
14 long lunges x 6

Stiff legged dead lift
3 x 8 @ 100kg (Can go heavier but don't find it works the muscles as well)

Leg curls
5 x 10 machine max

Leg Extentions
5 x 10 Machine Max
