London move

Hey guys just looking for some advice. Been meaning to move up to london for a while, anyone suggest decent areas to look for flats?
Was thinking pretty central, not too far from the hustle and bustle, but far away enough not to have huge rent!

Lol, it reminds me of that young bb'er in America who had his portable cooker in his shower. Id say that price would be for a fortnight.

Rent round mine for a 2 bed flat is over 1k and Im not even in a tube zone, Im on over ground and in a zone higher than 3.

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.

my friend lives in east street on the estate, its near elephant and castle i think the rent is about 2k? Your best bet is to look for a 1 room place, and share the kitchen, bathroom etc with others in the house/flat, can be had for about 400 - 600 a month, but you will be living with alot of trash most of the time....

Rents up here mate for a small 1 bed place all to yourself are going for £550 a month now, a year ago it was around £425

But you have c2c train fares to include in monthly expenses so it may work out more expensive

Look into renting a room in a flat share, London is silly expensive unless you earn silly money

Become a Nurse, and the Government will pay for your place... Plus all of your neighbours will be nurses.... I think there is Nurses accomodation just over the river from Big Ben.... You'll be a winner all round.. You'll get to live where you want, for a price you want, have nurses on tap, and be giving something back to the Community by treating a load of sick and injured drunken louts??

    Just an idea....

My lass pays 410 a month all bills included, also gets the net with it. She's in zone 2 aswell, that is sharing a flat though but gets on great with the other girl who is of the same age.

I was gonna look for a flatshare, rather than just renting by myself.

I'm a member of esporta gyms, the most central one seems to be in islington. I guess Its logical to go to a gym I'm a member of, anyone know much about the area around islington?

it may sound daft, but it's mixed from what I hear, some very nice bits, other not so nice, so maybe a trip down there to have a look round is in order

The one is Angel is on Essex road.

Islington is nice but has some rough areas. I'd live there if I could afford it but alas I cannot. I live down the road in Hackney which is ok. Quite a few big man gyms there.

Have a look at Holloway as it is around the corner from Islington and is a bit run down so isnt too expensive. Couple of murders the other day but apart from that its pretty safe.

Highbury is close to and is quite nice. Stoke Newington Church Street is worth a look too.

Use gumtree.com and moveflat.co.uk to look for flatshares.
