Lots of free time - what routine?

If someone was 14.5 stone and wanted to lose a good stone of fat without losing any/much muscle and they were not working for a while what routine would recommend?

I'm off work at the moment and have access to a "home" gym with cardio machines and weights which I can use as much as I like.

I want to lose the gut which is at least a stone I would guess. What routine would be best?

AM cardio on an empty stomach then weights in the afternoon?  Or Weights and then HIIT on off days?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks.

Personally what the 'trainer' said would exhaust you. Might leave you with less weight, while also curled up on the floor.

Stick to a full body workout, 3 times a week.

    Monday
    Squat
    Bench Press
    Rows Curls

    Wednesday
    Deadlift
    Overhead Press
    Chins

    Friday
    Squat
    Dips
    Snatches

(CK Posts that nearlly every day to beginners it's basically imprinted on the inside of my skull now. Haha.)
I would do the workout Mon Wed Fri and do cardio on Tues and Thurs and maybe even a Saturday (keeping this lighter).

Keep the reps and sets of the routine something like 4x6 or maybe even 5x5 (3 working sets though, so in theory 3x5). Fullbody workouts are great for keeping muscle mass, and adding it infact. Then - you calorie intake by around 500 for the first week. This may lead to 2000 calories, if you start to lose weight, stick to this until you have reached your weight.
