Lower back

I would like some advice on how to vary my lower back workouts. i currently combine it with abs and just do hyperextensions. i have had lower back injuries in the past so i really want to strengthen it up.

    How about deadlifts?

I too have suffered from lower back problems, these will help strengthen your back nicely

If you haven't done them before though I would recommend getting someone who has experience show you and watch to ensure you perform with good form.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Also, minimise use of a belt - that will help strengthen you up no end. And choose exercises that require greater stability, for example: standing press rather than seated.

Squats and standing bb press seem to work my lower back well.
