MCSE Exams

Hi,

Anyone know where I can sit the MCSE Exams?

Ideally the nearest test centre to Derby.

Thanks

    Here http://www.register.prometric.com/ClientProgram.asp

I'm sitting the CompTia exams with PearsonVue in a couple of weeks. Something to show employers when I go out scouting. The prices of exams accross the board are extortionate.

    Doing it solo mate.

I'd finished uni about a year ago with a degree in Computer and Network Engineering. Worked for my current employer for 9 months to date... 1st / 2nd line technical support (not based on standard telephone helpdesk). I get to visit sites and do installs etc so I’ve been lucky to find such a job as my first.

Recently an internal position within out Infrastructure team was advertised. Graduate with computer related degree preferred etc...

Only I and one colleague went for it. My competition had 9 years experience, no degree. I'm doing the same job and am just as good (better in certain areas) and have accomplished that status in only 9 months.

1st interview was brilliant. I was the one they wanted...

2nd interview - Technical test followed by final half hour interview.

The test (in my eyes) went pretty good. Again, the interview was brilliant. Appeared they had made their minds up... I was the one for the job (hadn't looked at my test just yet!).

We both got called 2 days later... I was the first to be called in... the look of disappointment on their faces! I was told it was me they wanted after having interviewed me but I did badly in the test! I couldn't believe it... he sat with me for 40 minutes and went through my answers... appeared I lacked exposure to particular topics covered in Microsoft Certifications.

I received brilliant feedback and the fact that I'd applied meant so much to them. I'm guaranteed a position within infrastructure in the near future and have been strongly advised to work toward accomplishing an MCSE certification.

They may pay for a couple of exams but I'm not at all loosing out by funding them myself.
